Basic problems about camera spot metering
Whether it is bright or dark, it is affected by exposure compensation. This is a large light ratio environment. If the overall evaluation metering methods such as average metering and global metering are adopted, the bright places will definitely be overexposed, and if jpg is made directly, some cameras will even discard the overexposed parts and carry out so-called "intelligent processing" on the picture content. Spot metering on the bright part is to prevent overexposure of the bright part and keep the details of the bright part. The corresponding picture darkens as a whole, the dark part is underexposed, the details are lost, and the silhouette effect appears. Some cameras will directly smear the dark parts in this case, making the picture too smooth, but removing a lot of dark details. Simply put, in this scene, the conventional automatic shooting is to keep the dark details and discard the bright details, but in order to achieve the silhouette effect (keep the bright details and discard the dark details), spot metering is adopted.
In other words, if you often shoot this subject, then you don't have to consider the metering method of any camera at all, and you can handle the exposure yourself. On the other hand, if your camera has a high tolerance, then no matter what metering method, whether the picture is overexposed or underexposed, it can be adjusted by post-adjustment.
