Norwegian higher education institutions are divided into public universities and private universities. Among them, there are two leading public art education institutions: Oslo National Art Institute and Bergen National Art Institute. Oslo National Academy of Art was formed by the merger of five independent colleges (namely, National Academy of Art Industry, National Academy of Fine Arts, National Theatre Academy, National Opera Academy and National Ballet Academy). There are three departments, namely design department, performance department and visual arts department. The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate majors, such as fine arts, ceramics, metals, textile and graphic arts, costume design and costume design, interior architecture and furniture design, visual communication, classical ballet, modern dance and modern dance, jazz dance, performance, choreography, costume design, choreography and dance choreography. Bergen National College of Art also provides some training courses for students, such as introduction of cascading style sheets (CSS) and content management system (CMS), project/exhibition production, classic animation, solid engineering foundation, clay graphics technology, ceramic picture transmission and so on.
