What is an art collection?

Art portfolio is a collection of 3-5 projects that art students need to do according to the professional requirements when applying for the design major of foreign art colleges or comprehensive universities. The quality of your portfolio will directly affect whether you can get an offer. During the interview, the professor will ask some questions according to your portfolio, mainly to understand the source of your creation and the idea of your work.

Some students may have a good foundation in fine arts, but they don't understand the requirements for applying for a major, so many students will consult relevant portfolio institutions when preparing their portfolios. Depending on the school, the portfolio can be sent before the interview or taken with you. In any case, this should be self-evident, because the applicant may not have a chance to explain a lot.

For example, an AIP graduate majoring in architecture in university of westminster said that the tutor "never gives you a chance to explain the whole portfolio". This means that the portfolio must be easy to read, with explanations, references and clarifications throughout. Sketch books or notes attached to actual design works should clearly explain the functional notes such as online media, scale (if it is a copy or photo), production completion date, etc.
