What are the characteristics of chronic cervicitis?

Chronic cervicitis refers to the infiltration of a large number of chronic inflammatory cells in the cervical stroma, which may be accompanied by hyperplasia and squamous metaplasia of cervical glandular epithelium and stroma. The symptoms and characteristics of chronic cervicitis are not obvious. A few patients may have increased leucorrhea, yellow or purulent, bleeding after sexual life, menstrual bleeding, and occasional leucorrhea stimulation, which may cause pruritus or discomfort of vulva. In gynecological examination, we can find cervical erosion-like changes, or yellow secretions covering the cervix, or flowing out of the cervix, or cervical polyps or cervical hypertrophy.
