What is the proxy recording function of Sony camera AX700?

The proxy recording of AX700 is a low bit rate proxy dynamic image. Since the file size of proxy motion images is small, it is suitable for transferring to smartphones or uploading to websites.

Proxy motion images are recorded in XAVC S HD format (1280×720) at 9 Mbps. The frame rate of the proxy motion picture is the same as that of the original motion picture. Proxy dynamic images are not displayed on the playback screen (single playback screen or image index screen). This will be displayed on the motion picture that is also recorded with the proxy motion picture.

Deleting/protecting a dynamic image with a proxy dynamic image will delete/protect both the original and proxy dynamic images. You cannot delete/protect only original motion pictures or proxy motion pictures. Motion pictures cannot be edited on this camera.

Extended information:

Proxy shooting is only supported when [File Format] is set to [XAVC S 4K] or [XAVC S HD].
