Raiders and preparations for the exploration of three Arctic islands

The North Pole is the explorer's favorite place. The three Arctic islands are Greenland, Svalbard and Iceland. On these three islands, you can see not only icebergs and glaciers, but also various animals, such as polar bears, various birds and Arctic elk. Details are as follows.

As for the itinerary, due to the changeable polar climate, there are extremely cold temperatures for more than half a year, and sea ice covers a large area of the sea. Only in summer will there be short-term sea conditions conducive to the navigation of anti-icing ships, and it is difficult to predict the time, area and area of sea ice melting every year, so some scheduled trips are likely to be temporarily adjusted. Fortunately, we have basically completed all the sightseeing and exploration contents as planned.

Our tourism project: exploring three Arctic islands, including Svalbard, Greenland and Iceland.

Since the departure time is summer in Beijing and the place to go is the North Pole, you should prepare clothes for summer, autumn and winter. Besides summer clothes, you should also prepare cotton sweaters, trousers, sweaters, trousers and thick socks.

You also need a warm waterproof jacket with a liner, cotton gloves, a wool hat and a waterproof backpack, as well as waterproof pants (the kind that is really waterproof rather than waterproof, because it is necessary to cruise or land on the sea every day after boarding the ship, so waterproof pants are very necessary. If not, you are not allowed to board the speedboat).

Swimsuit and trousers should also be brought, because if the sea conditions permit, the expedition team will organize the activities of the Spirit. Polar diving is still very exciting and will be unforgettable for life, and the Arctic diving certificate will be issued on board. You also need to wear a bathing suit and pants to go to Iceland for a hot spring bath.

In addition, sunglasses, sunscreen, personal seasickness medicine and skin care products should also be brought.

Regarding photography and digital equipment, we can see many wild animals in the Arctic, such as polar bears, musk oxen, arctic walruses, arctic foxes, arctic rabbits, whales, seals and many seabirds. But in order to protect animals and our own safety, we can't get too close to them. At this time, we need a telephoto lens, which is at least 400MM according to my experience, otherwise it is difficult to get satisfactory results.

A canon 5D-2, a canon 16-35MM, a canon 24-70MM and a canon 70-200MM, a canon 2D-2, a Nikon micro-single, a JVC camera, a tripod, and some other gadgets and maintenance tools.

A notebook, a 1TB mobile hard disk, an all-in-one card reader, a USB, a patch panel, and several chargers, SD cards and CF cards.

The red dotted line in the travel route map marks the sailing route of maritime exploration between the three Arctic islands.

What is there to see in Svalbard? The North Pole usually refers to the area within the Arctic Circle at 66 34' north latitude. In winter, the sun is always below the horizon and the sea is completely frozen. In summer, the temperature rises above freezing point, the edge of the Arctic Ocean melts, and the sun hangs in the sky for several weeks. This is also the origin of extreme night and extreme day. During the 13 days from boarding to disembarking, we didn't see the sunset and sunrise, because it was extremely daytime. From Svalbard, you can see magnificent glaciers and polar bears along the way.

What is there to see in East Greenland? Go to East Greenland and explore carefully on foot under the escort of explorers. The plants here are affected by the environment and temperature, with short growth cycle and slow growth. It is said that some plants can only grow one centimeter a year. Although these plants are very sparse and short, they provide valuable food for herbivores such as reindeer, arctic rabbits and mice.

What did Iceland see? Iceland is an island country in the North Atlantic, located at the intersection of the North Atlantic and the Arctic Ocean. Generally considered as one of the five Nordic countries, it is a country with many volcanoes and frequent geological activities. The Golden Waterfall in Iceland is the favorite waterfall of Icelanders and one of the famous waterfalls in Europe. The falling waterfalls splashed water all over the sky, which was spectacular.
