The mortality rate of esophageal cancer is younger! 4 strategic prevention

According to the statistics of the Department of Health, esophageal cancer ranks ninth among the top ten causes of death and sixth among male cancer deaths. The doctor said that esophageal cancer has no obvious symptoms in the early stage, but improper eating habits can easily induce precancerous lesions. Therefore, people should be reminded that if there are symptoms of foreign body sensation and "burning sensation" in the throat, or if continuous medication does not improve, they should seek medical attention for endoscopic examination, early detection and treatment.

Studies have found that very hot tea, or hot pot soup, can easily induce the risk of esophageal cancer. (Photo/Huang Zhiwen) Xu, a physician in the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatobiliary Surgery of Zhonghe Hospital affiliated to Kaohsiung Medical University, pointed out that there are more than 2,000 new cases of esophageal cancer in China every year. Last year, more than 200 people sought treatment for esophageal cancer in advanced medical clinics, most of whom were men aged 25 to 40. After screening, it was found that 90% of them were malignant tumors with stage 2 or above. Because most patients can't swallow, it is too late to be cured.

It is worth noting that the mortality rate of esophageal cancer is younger and mostly male. The main reason is poor eating habits. Risk factors include smoking, drinking, chewing betel nut, food containing nitrosamines, moldy food, hot tea, lack of fruits and vegetables, minerals and vitamins. If people smoke and drink, the probability of getting esophageal cancer is 9 times higher than that of ordinary people, and if they chew betel nut, the probability is as high as 60 times.

Four strategies to prevent esophageal cancer:

1. No smoking and chewing betel nut: Smoking and chewing betel nut are harmful. As for drinking alcohol, Kaohsiung Medical University found that alcohol metabolism can produce carcinogen acetaldehyde. The activity of acetaldehyde in esophagus is four times higher than that in stomach. As long as you consume 20 mg of alcohol every day, which is equivalent to 2 small glasses of beer, it may increase the risk of esophageal cancer by 4 times.

2. Drink less hot tea and soup: Studies have found that very hot tea or hot pot soup can easily increase the risk of esophageal cancer by 8 times. People in China like to eat hot pot and drink hot soup, and there is also the risk of easily denaturing esophageal cells. It is recommended to cool the soup before drinking, which has a preventive effect.

3. Eat more fruits and vegetables: The study found that eating more fruits and vegetables not only helps the general public, but also reduces the risk of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma by 65,438+0% for every 65,438+000 grams of cabbage, white radish and rape that men smoke and drink every day.

4. People at risk should have regular check-ups: Esophageal cancer is difficult to be detected early, so people with high risk factors for esophageal cancer should be vigilant and receive regular endoscopic examination. For example, people who like drinking and smoking, as well as patients with head and neck cancer such as eating acid and alkali by mistake and suffering from oral cancer, should be mainly examined by endoscopy.
