How to choose the best photographic equipment for you?

Lead: For photographers, talking about equipment is interesting but a bit nerve-racking. Equipment is the material basis of photography activities, and the attitude towards it affects the photographer's creative path to a certain extent. Photographers have been engaged in portrait photography for many years and have accumulated rich experience in equipment configuration and use. I will share their photography experience.

How to choose the most suitable photographic equipment and the current equipment configuration?

This camera uses EOS 5D II and EOS 7D.

The lens mainly uses: EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM, EF70-200mm f/2.8l is USM, Ef50mm f/ 1.2L is USM, and ef85mm f/1.2l is USM; There are EX580 II and EX430 II flash lamps, which are not commonly used. I prefer the softness and naturalness of the sun, which can meet my creative needs in most cases with the reflector.

Which brand of photographic equipment do you use?

In my photography experience, I have been using Canon EOS series cameras and EF lenses.

Some friends like to argue about which brand is good. Personally, I don't think it is necessary and there will be no correct answer. Each brand has its own advantages, which can be used to carry out creative activities. However, once the brand is selected, it is best not to change it easily. Changing the system means economic loss, and more importantly, it takes time to fully understand the characteristics of a series of products. The longer the better. Only when you have a full understanding of the equipment can you master it? Spleen? It will be handy to use.

Why choose this brand?

There is no special reason, maybe I think Canon's lenses are very nice, black and white, and some lenses have a red line (? l? Series lens). Dazed? Home? Since then, more and more related configurations and senses have been used, and they have been used to this day.

What types of cameras and lenses have you used in Canon?

It is meaningless to mention the products of the film age. As far as digital cameras are concerned, they have been used: EOS D30 (Canon's first SLR camera using its own CMOS sensor), EOS 1D, EOS 10D, EOS 20D, EOS 5D and EOS 5D II.

Lens: EF series lenses, from 14mm to 200mm, except fisheye lens and macro lens, zoom and focus are basically used, so I won't list them here, otherwise it will be a lot of English letters and Arabic numerals.

About the experience of using the camera

Nowadays, electronic cameras provide many functions, but the basic functions are focusing, metering, exposure and recording. In many functions of each link, simplify the complex, choose a way you like (or need), and use it for a long time, so that practice makes perfect, so as to get efficient shooting.

It is recommended to shoot in RAW format, unless you are a reporter or you often need to release it in time. Using RAW format, there is more room for later development and better image quality can be obtained. At present, the software for processing RAW files, such as LR and ACR, provides a broad processing space for photographers.

Some suggestions on equipment configuration

1, don't be too superstitious about equipment, or you will be disappointed.

Good equipment is helpful to a good work, but it is also limited, that is, it shows advantages in image quality and special effects (such as ultra-shallow depth of field), but a good work is not limited to this, it involves all aspects of the early and late stages, and it is not enough to have these advantages alone. Overconfidence in equipment is a trap that photographers easily fall into, and I am no exception. Waste money for this, and more importantly, let my photography path deviate? I always feel that I didn't shoot well enough because the equipment was not in place, and my mind was focused on tossing the equipment, and I didn't concentrate on my study and practice, which led to the long-term stagnation of technology.

2, buy equipment within your ability, not too innovative.

In the digital age, products are updated quickly, and the latest models will soon become obsolete. Just like some camera models I listed earlier, they are as hard to find as antiques in less than ten years. The cost of trying new things is too high. As a working class, my income is limited. As an amateur, equipment can't produce economic benefits. If we blindly seek novelty and Excellence, it may affect the normal living expenses. In addition, photography costs a lot of money, and travel, outdoor shooting, hiring models and costume props all need financial support.

3. Determine the equipment according to your own shooting theme and shooting style.

If the work is published online, the pursuit of too high pixel value actually increases the burden on the computer, and upgrading the computer means spending money; Top-class SLR equipment is often big and heavy, which is a burden for people who like to travel and shoot (especially girls); General artistic portrait creation, high-speed continuous shooting will mostly be idle. ......

4. Try to realize your own creation with simple configuration.

Carefully put your hand on the equipment? Spleen? It is much more practical to know and maximize their potential than to have a cabinet of equipment. ? Big mouthfuls often choke. There are too many devices, but we don't pay special attention to them, so we can't figure out the mystery. In the end, devices play with people, not people and devices. If you are a photographer who likes to take portraits on location, carrying too much equipment out also means heavier bags and greater chances of damage.

Experience in lens use

What focal length and aperture are used for creation mainly depends on two aspects.

One is subjective, that is, what kind of picture effect the photographer wants:

? Telephoto lens:

Ef70-200mm f/2.8l is USM +2X rangefinder.

A telephoto lens can compress the distance between longitudinal objects. In outdoor portrait photography, it closely connects the key background (or foreground) with the characters, so that the characters blend into the scene and form an interactive relationship.

Ef70-200mm f/2.8L is USM.

It can better blur the background and foreground, highlight people, or make the picture softer, which is especially useful when shooting beautiful people.

Ef70-200mm f/2.8L is USM.

The pictures it shoots give readers a psychological hint and visual effect of watching from a distance, which is suitable for creating lyrical and gentle pictures.

? Wide angle lens:

? Compared with telephoto lens, wide-angle lens can clearly distinguish the positions of people, background and foreground, making the picture more spatial.

EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM

EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM

EF24mm mm f/ 1.4 liter USM

When shooting people at close range, the perspective distortion of wide-angle lens can highlight key elements and make them have tension to get rid of the shackles of the picture.

? Medium focal length lens (standard lens and medium telephoto lens)

? Giving people a natural picture effect often reveals an introverted charm.

EF85 f/ 1.2 liter type II USM

EF50mm mm f/ 1.2 liter USM

EF50mm mm f/ 1.2 liter USM

When shooting close-ups of characters, the photographer is close to the characters and goes deep into their inner world.

Second, objectively influenced by the scene and field of view light, basically only a lens with a certain focal length and aperture can be used:

You need a wide-angle lens to shoot big scenes at close range.

When the spotlight is weak, if you want to shoot by hand and capture the subtle atmosphere of the spotlight, you must use a large aperture lens or a short focal length lens to get a clear picture.

Matters needing attention in equipment maintenance:

1, long-distance travel photography, equipment is easy to be damaged on the way.

Before departure, the space of the camera bag should be properly separated according to the shape of the equipment, and the equipment should be tightly placed without leaving gaps. Tightly placed, the whole camera bag can become a solid whole, which can withstand pressure and fall. When the car bumps, the equipment will not shake greatly and will not collide with each other.

2. When flying, you can buy a small lock to lock the zipper of the camera bag.

Of course, right? Guard against gentlemen and not against villains? This move is enough on the plane. It can let you relax and have a rest without worrying about waking up and missing a shot.

3. Small objects such as lens cover are the easiest to lose.

Every time you change places, you'd better shout at each other and remind each other of any omissions. It's a waste of time to leave and come back. In the big scene, finding a small accessory is undoubtedly looking for a needle in a haystack.
