Su Mingjuan's information

1983, Su Mingjuan was born in zhang wan Village, Lingtao Township, Jinzhai County, Anhui Province. His father Su Liangyou and his mother Zhong make a living by fishing, raising silkworms, raising pigs, farming and growing chestnuts. This family leads a hard and simple rural life.

1991may, 7-year-old Su Mingjuan was a first-grade student in zhang wan primary school. Jie Hailong, a photojournalist of China Youth Daily, went to Jinzhai County to interview and shoot Project Hope, and went to more than a dozen villages. Finally, he came to zhang wan Primary School in Dabie Mountain and found Su Mingjuan in his class. A pair of "big eyes" that can especially represent the children in poor mountainous areas who are eager to learn took his shot. This picture shows a little girl with a pencil point in her hand and two big eyes looking straight ahead, full of longing. After this photo entitled "I want to study" was published, it was quickly reprinted by major domestic newspapers and became the propaganda symbol of China Hope Project, and Su Mingjuan also became the image representative of Hope Project.

On June 23rd, 2007, in Hefei, Anhui Province, at the invitation of the Organizing Committee for Volunteer Recruitment of Beijing Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (Anhui), Su Mingjuan, the spokesperson of China Hope Project, became the ambassador for volunteer recruitment of Anhui Olympic Games. According to reports, as of June 22nd 12, the total number of volunteers registered for the Olympic Games in other provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in Beijing reached 196973, including Anhui Province 1 127 1 person.

When Su Mingjuan grew up, his friends were called "big nose" and "big eyes".
