Zhang Yinquan's works

After the founding of New China, Zhang Yinquan was hired as a researcher at the Press and Photography Bureau and the Research Office of the Photography Department of Xinhua News Agency. He brought decades of practical experience in photography to the new society, and the photographic energy accumulated by long-term hard study has been greatly exerted. Great achievements have been made in photography theory, photography art and photography technology. When there was a shortage of photography books in his early years, he successively compiled and published many simple books, such as Principles and Practicality of Photography, Applied Optics of Photography, and Artificial Light Photography, with more than one million words, which benefited many photographers. He participated in the training course for young college students organized by the photography department, taught in person, trained a large number of journalists and editors, and became the backbone of Xinhua News Agency's head office and branches. He used the aerial photography equipment of the US Air Force to transform it into a telephoto lens, which was used to remotely photograph the activities of the central leading comrades at the Tiananmen Gate on the festival day. At his suggestion, the photography department provided subordinate reporters with a small Leica 135 camera and a medium-sized Lulai 120 dual-lens reflex camera, so that everyone could go into battle lightly and take more and better photos. During this period, his works were rich in ideological content and varied in theme forms, such as Youth Commando in the Cold, Damming in the Early Morning, Grazing, Watching Fireworks, Seven Stars Misty Rain and so on. It reflects the new era and new figures, and praises the socialist construction.
