Xiuning county celebrity

Xiuning County is the "No.1 Scholar in China" with rich cultural resources. From the tenth year of Jiading in the Song Dynasty (12 17) to the sixth year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1880), Xiuning produced 19 scholars, ranking first among all counties in China. Xiuning's famous figures include Confucianism, Dai Zhen (now Tunxi District), Cheng Dawei, a master of abacus, dramatists Wang Yanni, Wang, Ding, Hu and Haiyang, and Wu Xiang, former vice chairman of the National People's Congress and former consultant of the State Council Rural Economic Development Research Center.

The number one scholar is the product of the imperial examination system in China's history. Among them, from the tenth year of Jiading in the Song Dynasty (12 17) to the sixth year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1880), there were 19 champions in Xiuning, ranking first in the country (see table below).
