Where is the Mekong River?
Mekong River is located in Yunnan Province of China and flows through Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.
Mekong River originates from the northeast slope of Tanggula, China, with a total length of 4,880 kilometers. It flows through China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, and flows into the South China Sea in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It is the seventh largest river in the world. The main water supply forms of Mekong River are rainfall and snowmelt in mountainous areas. It is rich in hydropower resources, rich in mineral resources and biodiversity, and has navigation capacity, which strengthens the ties between regions and promotes regional economic growth.
