Why are Olympus cameras so expensive?

From the top EM series to the entry-level EPM series, hot boots are brought. Most brand entry micro-singles don't have hot boots, and Sony and even NEX7 don't use standard hot boots. At the same time, all of Oba's micro-single hot boots and viewfinder are directly above the lens optical axis, because Oba's insistence on paraxial or paraxial perspective is not professional enough.

2. Oba pays attention to the image quality of sensors, and does not hesitate to popularize excellent sensors.

Three years ago, Sony developed the M43 sensor with excellent image quality, and Oba took a stake in Gensonnie and gave up the old Panasonic sensor for EM5. Last year, Panasonic developed the latest sensor whose image quality surpassed Sony, and Oba was the first to equip EM1, even before Panasonic itself. At the same time, once there is a new sensor in the Oba micro-single, it will be adopted across the board, and the image quality from 6 yuan EM to 15 yuan EPM is almost the same.

3. Oba pays attention to the professionalism of internal functions and does not hesitate to decentralize technology.

This year, Oba's three-axis anti-shake technology will also be popularized in the middle and low end, while the high-end is all-in-one five-axis anti-shake.

4. The development of Oba lens is distinctive and targeted.

absolute image quality is not the first priority in developing lenses in the micro-single era. Cost control, volume control and even appearance design are all important factors affecting the market. There are many concrete manifestations. Let me simply take three lenses as examples:

The plastic lens A-14-42IIR is not as good as Panasonic's corresponding metal lens G14-42II and its viewing angle is not as wide as Sony's E16-5. However, on the one hand, this lens has achieved an acceptable entry-level image quality, avoiding the serious image quality loss and the lack of focus of the E165, and at the same time, it is lighter than Panasonic, and the price is only 6% of Panasonic's. The aperture in the middle section is larger than that of Panasonic and Sony.

B humanistic lens 17mm F1.8 This lens is positioned in the middle and high end, but its maximum sharpness is better than the cheap 2mm F1.7 from Panasonic, and certainly better than the high-end Zeiss 24mm F1.8 from Sony. However, as a humanistic fixed focus mainly used for sweeping the street, Oba endowed this lens with three characteristics: the sharpness of full aperture is better than that of the other two, the slight field curvature and the push-pull MF ring.

compared with Leica's 45mm F2.8, the 6mm F2.8 of C macro lens has fewer lenses, lower cost and worse blur of the photographer like Jiao Wai. However, as a macro photography, 6mm has the same magnification, the same soft shot and the same maximum sharpness as 45mm. The main difference is that the sharpness is the highest at 6 micron F8, and the sharpness is the highest at 45 micron maximum aperture F2.8.

People who often take macro shots know that the aperture of the macro lens is F8 or even smaller, because macro photography is easy to have insufficient depth of field, rather than excessive depth of field. At the same time, the 6-micro mirror body also has four gears with different magnification, which is more convenient for professional photographers to choose shooting distance than 45 micro.

Therefore, my final conclusion is that Olympus may be more suitable for enthusiasts who know some equipment and professional users who don't have high requirements for blurring. On the contrary, I don't recommend Oba to novices. Novices don't care about the distortion and dark angle of Sony's headband. Panasonic's tolerance is a few steps worse than Oba's, but they will care about whether the camera menu is understood or not. After playing for two years, the fuselage workmanship is not real.
