Is Wu Zhenyu's "reform gang" good? How to evaluate?

After many years, Wu Zhenyu, who directed and acted again with comedy as the starting point, did not bring much joy to the audience. On the contrary, whether he is a comedian with a southern accent and a northern accent, or he uses nonsense humor, it just makes the film look vulgar and boring, and the father-son relationship formed in the process may only be moved by Wu Zhenyu who is playing with his son.

Admittedly, Wu Zhenyu is an actor who knows his acting very well, but he is not an excellent director. Of the six works directed by Wu Zhenyu, the only one that can be called qualified is his debut "94 13", but even in this film, the lack of narrative control and the mediocrity of photography are hard to hide. However, after 20 years, his "reform gang" is still far from perfect.

This kind of freewheeling can be seen everywhere in movies. In Transformers, Wu Zhenyu plays an out-of-date movie emperor, Yu Ge. After his accidental amnesia, he mistakenly thinks that he is really a gangster, which is what the movie expects to make people laugh. The burden of this contrast is the "method of stealing keys", which impressed me the most. As a comedy, I don't ask how meticulous and solid the logic can be, but at least there must be at least one that can attract people.

Transformers contains a large number of ridiculous and nondescript gangsters, which makes the film feel extremely false from beginning to end. All kinds of coincidental stories have made people completely unwilling to explore the ending trend of the film, but just hope that this patchwork farce can end as soon as possible. As for the emotional core created by the film, it is actually more like a fig leaf, just trying to cover up this nonsense.

Wu Zhenyu, who plays the role of Diego in the film, still has many fans in reality with years of precipitation, but in the face of such a vulgar work that consumes the trust of the audience and is written and directed by himself, the only thing to consider is Wu Zhenyu himself.
