How to enrich photos?

Lead: Composition is the basic point of an image, and it is also one of the factors that determine its quality. So how do you take pictures with rich composition? Let's get to know each other!

Q: Is there any friend who knows photography who can help me explain how to shoot the track effect at night? I think many people use car lights to take pictures of the night scene, but I tried several times without success. The photo is either very weak or too dark … I checked it online and said I wanted to control the shutter or something. How to operate them exactly?

A: I majored in editing and directing in college, and now I am engaged in the work around images, and I am very familiar with photography skills. The "light track effect" you mentioned is what we often call "slow door photography". When shooting the slow door, the stability of the camera and the exposure time are the most important. The photos you take are very weak, mostly because the camera is not stable enough, and the photos are too dark because you haven't been exposed for long enough.

So what problems should we pay attention to in slow door photography? In fact, it is very simple, just remember the following three points:

1. Get the camera and tripod ready.

Slow door photography requires high equipment. First of all, you need a mobile camera so that you can adjust the exposure time. In the question, you said that Shoot failed several times, either because of the parameter setting or because your shooting equipment was not good enough.

If you want to shoot the slow door, you'd better prepare a camera that can quickly adjust the parameters.

In addition to a suitable camera, tripod is also an important prop for slow door shooting. Because in the process of shooting long exposure, if the camera is not stable enough, the scene in the photo will shift and affect the film effect; If there is no tripod, try to fix the camera in a stable position to shoot.

2. Reasonable shutter speed

"Slow" door photography, the shutter speed is naturally slow, so we set the camera to shutter priority mode. Here I take my own Canon EOS 77D SLR as an example. First, I choose TV files. It can be easily seen from the guidance interface that the lower the shutter speed, the easier it is to shoot the trajectory of the object, while the high-speed shutter can freeze the object.

Take my own Canon EOS 77D as an example. Under TV, the camera will guide you to choose the right shutter.

When shooting different subjects, the shutter speed is different. Generally speaking, the shutter speed of115s is slow enough for high-speed traffic, but if the traffic speed is not very fast, you can choose a lower shutter speed. In addition, in order to avoid machine vibration, it is recommended to use two-second timing or remote control shooting.

In order to avoid machine vibration during long exposure, it is recommended to use a timed shutter.

It should be noted that the exposure value of the camera is fixed in TV files, so the aperture will be reduced when the shutter slows down, and photos exceeding the minimum aperture of the lens will be overexposed. Under normal circumstances, I will use the aperture from F8 to F 16 to avoid the actual image quality details being affected, and if there is overexposure during shooting, the camera will remind me to readjust.

Although this photo captures the trajectory of the car, the bright areas are seriously overexposed.

Too slow shutter speed will cause overexposure, and my camera will remind me to reset it.

3. Appropriate aircraft position+guidance line composition

The composition of slow door photography is very important. Since we want to shoot the night scene of the urban rail, we need to find a good seat on the street. For example, you can use the light rail as the main body of the photo, try to use a lower angle of view, and take photos directly on the roadside with a flip screen, which will get such an effect:

Shooting directly on the side of the road with a low angle of view will get a slow door work with the theme of light.

The exposure time of115s is slow enough for vehicles, and the low viewing angle needs the support of the flip screen.

The movement of vehicles is basically linear, so it is often very appropriate to use the trajectory of traffic flow as the guiding line for composition:

It is also common to use traffic flow as a guide line in the diagram.

If you want to shoot a big scene like this and use traffic as an ornament in the photo, you need to find a higher shooting location. Personally, I prefer to shoot on the overpass, and with a wide angle, I can often shoot very spectacular results.

During the day, you can also take slow door photography with a variable-diameter mirror, which can shoot satin-like water flow.

In addition, in fact, slow door photography is not a patent for shooting night scenes, and long exposure shooting can also be achieved by installing nd filter during the day, but these are all words for novices.

My Canon EOS 77D SLR is very useful when shooting slow doors.

In fact, the steps of slow door photography are very simple, and the main problem lies in whether the equipment can meet the standard and the choice of camera position when shooting. If you are still shooting with your mobile phone or ordinary card machine, then I suggest you start with a serious camera and tripod, like my Canon EOS 77D SLR, you can consider it.
