How to adjust Nikon shutter speed

Introduction to photography: Many beginners always ask these questions. What is the shutter speed? How much is the aperture value adjusted? How much sensitivity to adjust and so on. I sorted out the camera parameters summarized by the photographer for your reference only.

1, bird: 1/2000 seconds

Birds flying high in the air are fast. Generally, the shutter speed of 1/2000 seconds is used to ensure the bird's clarity, but we can also use a slightly lower shutter speed, such as 1/400 seconds, which can blur the bird's wings and better express the bird's movements.

2. Sports competition:1/500 ~11000 seconds

When shooting sports competitions, we need to use the shutter speed between1/500-11000 to freeze high-speed athletes. At the same time, in order to get close-ups of athletes outside the stadium, we usually need to use a tripod or monopod with a high-speed shutter to shoot.

3. Sweep the street: 1/250 ~ 1/500 seconds

When we shoot people sweeping the street, we often shoot pedestrians and vehicles, but these objects are asymptomatic, so we can't judge their actions in the next second. Therefore, we should adjust the shutter speed according to the scene, and generally use the shutter speed between 1/250- 1/500.

4. Scenery:1125 seconds

If you want to take landscape photos with a tripod, you can usually use a shutter of 1/8 or 1/4, or even a shutter of more than 30 seconds, but you need to consider factors such as wind. If you shoot with a hand-held camera, you should use a faster shutter speed according to the principle of safe shutter.

5. Traffic following photography:115 ~1/60s.

To shoot the car with a clear subject and a blurred background, we can use a slower shutter speed115-1/60.

6. Waterfall: 1/8 ~ 2 seconds

If the shooting effect is similar to the above picture, we need to use a slower shutter speed. If the light is strong, we need to shoot with a reducing mirror. The slower the shutter speed, the more obvious the blurring effect will be.

7. Lakes and rivers: 0.5 seconds

For slow-flowing water, such as oceans, lakes and rivers, it is necessary to use the shutter speed below 1 s to create a dreamy effect of smooth and soft seawater.

8. Fireworks: 2 ~ 8 seconds

Setting off fireworks is a technical job! Faster shutter speed will make annoying spots; A slower shutter speed will blur the fireworks, and even lead to excessive fireworks. A shutter speed of 3-5 seconds is generally recommended.

9. Stars: 15 ~ 25 seconds

If you shoot the starry sky, you must pay attention to the choice of shutter. If the shutter speed is too slow, the stars are not obvious. If the shutter speed is too slow, such as more than 30 seconds, it will produce the effect of star orbit. In general, the shutter speed for shooting starry sky should be between 15 seconds and 25 seconds.
