Information about Deng Qiyao
Deng Qiyao, male, Han nationality, from Shunde, Guangdong, was born in Kunming in February 1952. He is a professor, doctoral supervisor, and deputy dean of the School of Communication and Design.
Education and work resume
From August 1971 to September 1978, he worked as a lathe and art worker at the Kunming Bus Transport Terminal; while working as an art worker (1972-1978), he worked for ethnic minorities many times Regional sketching.
From 1977 to 1978, he studied in the journalism short-term training class of the Chinese Department of Yunnan University, during which he lived in Tibetan areas for more than 4 months.
From 1978 to 1982, he was admitted to the Chinese Department of Yunnan University and served as the secretary-general of the school student union. During his studies, he participated in many folklore surveys organized by the Folk Literature and Art Teaching and Research Office.
From 1982 to 1986, he worked as a magazine editor and civil servant.
In 1986, he was transferred to the Institute of Ethnic Literature, Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences, and was hired as an assistant researcher in July of the following year.
In April 1992, he was promoted to associate researcher and served as deputy director.
In August 1993, he was promoted to researcher as an exception and became the academic leader of the ethnology discipline of Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences.
From May 1994 to January 2000, he served as the director of the Institute of Ethnic Literature of the Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences, the director of the Ethnic Art Research Center of the Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences, and the president and editor-in-chief of "Camellia. Journal of Human Geography".
In February 2000, he was transferred to the Department of Anthropology of Sun Yat-sen University and served as professor and deputy director of the department.
In May 2003, he concurrently served as the deputy dean (in charge) of the School of Communication and Design of Sun Yat-sen University.
Member of the Academic Committee of the "Southwestern Frontier Ethnic Research Center of Yunnan University", a key research base for humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education, visiting professor of Yunnan University and Yunnan University for Nationalities, executive director and deputy secretary-general of the Chinese Folklore Society, and Chinese Exploration Association Director of the Humanities and Historical Geography Professional Committee, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Folk Photography Association, a specially invited expert of the U.S.-China Art Exchange Center at Columbia University, and the Chinese person in charge of the Sino-U.S. Cooperation "National Culture Field Research Group".
