Yunnan Yuanyang Terrace Tourism Raiders
Bada scenic spot in Yuanyang.
This is my second visit to Yuanyang. The first time was more than ten years ago. At that time, Yuanyang was still trying to declare the World Heritage.
There is no decent road in the scenic spot, and of course there is no way to charge. It is a small town composed of many villages that can enter and leave freely, and the center of the town is Xinjie Town.
In a blink of an eye, the small village of that year is now famous, not only successfully applying for the World Heritage, but also becoming one of the most famous scenic spots in Yunnan.
To tell the truth, before I got there, my heart was uneasy.
I'm really afraid that the simple villagers and mushroom houses in Gu Zhuo have been completely submerged by the tide of modern life and no longer exist. It may have been completely commercialized and empty, but fortunately, after coming to Yuanyang, more than half of these concerns have not yet occurred.
Women are still wearing national costumes and carrying baskets on their shoulders, either today's harvest or hungry babies; Men still get together, sit around and spend all their time on the wisps of smoke in the hookah; Shengcun, where we live, still works at sunrise and rests at sunset, with no neon lights and no promotion; Every market day is still in accordance with the ancient calendar, and the days gradually become rice grains in the terraced fields.
No one thinks it is so strange, no one thinks it is bad, and no one thinks it should be changed.
In an era when women's rights are so surging, we still only see women working hard in the streets and fields; On the streets where cars are coming and going, chickens, ducks and buffaloes are still walking freely; In Yuanyang, poverty-stricken counties just took off their hats (May 17, 20), but with such a beautiful scenic spot today, people here are not in a hurry to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs, but let everything continue to let nature take its course. This may be the Hani people's way of thinking that man and nature can live in harmony for thousands of years, never exhausted, never fishing, never burning forests and never hunting.
Of course, the only constant in this world is constant change, and no one or anything can stop it.
More women's bamboo baskets have become plastic materials, many mushroom houses have been completely rebuilt, and even the town center has moved to Nansha. Xinjie is now an "old county". The men in the village may finally be willing to go out to work. I heard that we lost the drone and organized a team to find it. Then the exact asking price is the highest, and the negotiation skills are enough for Canada to release people immediately? It's good. It's better than nothing.
We suffered setbacks in Yuanyang, made new friends, and became the longest stop in Yunnan so far, seeing many beautiful scenery and tasting brand-new food. * * * Make a promise to come again this winter!
When you go to Yunnan to see terraced fields, although you want to say "Yuanyang terraced fields", Yuanyang is not the only one with terraced fields.
Even my favorite terrace is not in Yuanyang, but Yuanyang people skillfully define it as the "core zone" of terraces. As a result, as early as the first big woman who was carried into the front door, she sat firmly in her birthright and has been everywhere ever since.
After we left Yuanyang, we did see many terraced fields that were no less beautiful than or even more beautiful than here: some were just like a timid concubine who simply wanted to be unknown and uncontested, and even dared not stand on the side of the road to announce her existence; Some are content to get a love; Also, with their extraordinary beauty, ready to challenge the status of Yuanyang.
In short, Yuanyang must not come to Yunnan to see terraces. However, it is best not to just come to Yuanyang to feel it.
Terraced fields have turned mountainous areas that were not suitable for growing rice into ten thousand mu of fertile land, which has enabled the Hani people to live a stable and prosperous life.
There are many theories about the history of Hani nationality. At present, the most common view in academic circles is the theory of long-distance migration, that is, the ancestors of Hani nationality originally lived in the Central Plains such as Nanjing and Shanxi, and were the same species as Han nationality; Or the Qiang people who used to live in Gansu, Qinghai and Tibet. No matter where it originated, it drifted all the way to today's Red River area.
Personally, I feel that if this statement is true, then these terraced fields are the answers that the Hani ancestors, who are in rags and suffering from wandering, are struggling to find, and are the reasons why the Hani people have taken root here and never traveled far again.
Without Hani, there would be no terraced fields; But if there were no terraces, perhaps the Hani people would have disappeared in the long river of history.
Why are there terraces?
According to the Hani legend, in the early years, people were insatiable, demanding too much, and deforestation made birds have no dependence, poisoned all animals and made their lives extinct. In the end, it attracted the punishment of the gods. At that time, naked thousands of miles away, it was the moment of life and death of genocide. Fortunately, God's daughter, who was left behind in her early years, secretly taught the Hani people a chance to live because she did not give up her living lover and taught them to respect nature. Agriculture is used to solve the water problem, not hunting. Since then, the Hani people have embarked on the principle of coexistence with nature and mutual care, and have survived to this day.
This story is beautiful. I watched it with relish in the Lvchun County Museum for about twenty minutes. I can only pick up a little wisdom here, and friends who are really interested should go and see for themselves.
But I believe in natural science more. I found a more convincing reason in the popular science room at the entrance of Yuanyang Scenic Area.
Ailao Mountain stands tall, and the valley at the foot of the mountain is extremely stuffy. Every day, a lot of water vapor evaporates, and when it reaches the top of the mountain, it meets with cold air to form topographic precipitation, and then falls back to the ground. The cycle is endless.
The ancestors of Hani nationality discovered and used this natural wonder and dug terraces along the mountain. Use wood carving to adjust the water flow, maximize the use of precipitation, and plant rice that makes you feel comfortable. In addition, fish, shrimps and crabs can be raised in rice fields, and their excrement provides enough nutrients for rice and attracts birds. The arrival of birds cleared the pests in the field, and the residue that fell into the lake became fish food again. Since then, all parties have been interdependent and happy.
The Wolf King has his own views on the formation of terraces. After seeing the terraced travertine cave in Jiuxiang, she thought that Hani people were inspired by it. I don't know whether the ancestors of the Hani nationality discovered Jiuxiang Cave in those days, maybe, maybe not.
However, many things in nature actually lead to the same goal by different routes, and an invisible hand makes everything have its own laws. Perhaps the ancestors of the Hani nationality felt this call, and the so-called "man's method of land, land's method of heaven, heaven's method of Tao, Tao's method of nature".
Summary of Raiders of Hani Terrace Scenic Spot in Yuanyang
First, scenic spot information
Now Yuanyangtai Scenic Area needs tickets, but the entrance is in a state of turning a blind eye. There is no clear ticket checking place and no one is on duty. You didn't stop and no one stopped you, so that we didn't even know when we drove in on the first day, thinking that we didn't need tickets during the epidemic, and we drove back more than ten kilometers to buy tickets the next day under the guidance of the innkeeper.
But interestingly, once you enter the ticket office, you need to take your temperature, scan your health code and register your car. Really: Do you want to be so careful, or do you want to evade tickets so casually? I hope the scenic spot can improve in this respect in the future.

If you don't buy tickets, most terraces can still be seen at will. Only two places need to show their tickets to enter, one is the multi-skill tree and the other is Bada.
A little black humor is that Bada Scenic Area has just passed the ticket office and you can see that there is still a blatant dirt road that can bypass the ticket office and enter the scenic area. However, seeing the countless roads paved by manpower and the perfect facilities of the observation deck in the scenic spot, I hope everyone can buy a ticket generously and enjoy this beautiful scenic spot in a proper way.
Tickets originally included the Tiger Mouth Scenic Area, but unfortunately, last year, flash floods there washed away a large number of terraces, and the beautiful scenery was never seen again.
However, the scenic spot generously deducted this part of the fee from the ticket. Originally, tickets for scenic spots were required to be in 70 yuan, but now they are in 35 yuan. This year, Yunnan Province implements the policy of half-price tickets, and only needs 35 yuan. There are additional discounts for purchasing tickets from its official APP, and only needs 28 yuan.
Attention! Tickets are valid for 72 hours. You can freely choose the visiting time within the valid time, but you can only go in once. Opening hours of the scenic spot: 6:00-20:00.

Second, the way to visit
The scenic spot is very large, so driving or renting a car is the best way to see every famous terrace, or you can stop and look for the scenery you think is beautiful. It's ok to ride the next best thing, but it's not labor-saving, because it's mostly uphill and downhill, and it's mostly gravel roads.
If you want to see it on foot, you need extraordinary physical strength and considerable time. But mainly, tickets are only valid for 72 hours, that is, hikers need to walk through two scenic spots that need to be checked in three days.
It is about 8 kilometers from Duoyishu Scenic Area to Bada Scenic Area, and the uninterrupted walking time is about 2 hours, which varies according to individual circumstances. Those who like hiking can try it.
Third, the best viewing season
Every year 1 1 the end of the month to the beginning of April is the best time to watch the terraced fields.
Because there were no seedlings in the field at that time, only water. At that time, the sky and clouds were reflected by the water, as if a colorful canopy covered the earth like a broken mirror. So that in the peak season, it is crowded here, but after the peak season, it is empty immediately. It seems that only the terraced fields at that time are worth seeing. When we came, we were persuaded by many friends for the same reason: the terraced fields at this time are not beautiful.
But to be honest, it is relative whether it looks good or not. When the fields are full of tender green, light yellow or dark green seedlings, it is also a rare and good scenery. At least we all think that we are glad that you came.
Of course, Yuanyang must come once in winter, after all, it is really the most beautiful time. I like my friends to get together.
Yuanyang tour route recommendation

1. Tourist Service Center in Scenic Spot: Buy tickets and learn some important background knowledge about Hani Terrace.
There is a cultural landscape exhibition of Hani terraces on the right side of the ticket gate, which is worth seeing. You can learn about the generalization, cultural value and heritage application of Hani terraces.
2. Qingkou observation deck: About 500 meters after the visitor center, there is still a distance from the real Qingkou terraces.
You can see some terraces and part of Hani town from here, but the landscape is not very good. From here, you can also take the stairs to Qingkou Village, Bada Village and Quanfuzhuang.
3. Hani Town and Hani History and Culture Museum: about 1.5 km behind the observation deck of Qingkou Village.
Hani Town is built entirely for tourists to shop, relax, dine and entertain. Although it has the appearance of a mushroom house, it has no soul. The museum of Hani history and culture is open from 9:00- 17:00 and closed on Monday.
4. Duoyishu Scenic Area/Dayutang Village: After visiting the museum, continue to drive along the 245 National Road to the depths of the scenic area, and you will see the Bifurcation Road after about 850 meters.
If you continue to drive along National Highway 245 (drive to the right), all the way up to Duoyishu Scenic Area.
Turn left and turn into Dashengduan Township Road, and you will soon see Dayutang Village. No matter which road you take, you will bid farewell to the asphalt road, and the road surface will become paved with granite cubes, which is more bumpy. Our choice is to go down first, because the inn goes along this road.
Dayutang Village is worth a visit. Although it was built in Shanghai and bid farewell to the old and dangerous houses, the village still retains its original articles of association and living habits. It is suggested to read some background information of Hani religion before coming, which will make the tour more interesting.
5. Quanfuzhuang Observation Deck: Starting from Dayutang Village, walk 3.6 kilometers along Sheng Da section.
Quanfuzhuang observation deck is very close to the terraced fields, overlooking the Qingkou terraced fields, especially at sunset, and the scenery is very beautiful.
6. Mali Village Tea Factory Parking Area: After Quanfuzhuang, drive along Sheng Da section 1.2km, and you will see Mali Village Tea Factory Parking Area.
Here you can see the bronze statue of woodcut water diversion, and the terraced landscape that is a little worse than the dam.
7. Bada Scenic Area: Mali Village Tea Factory Parking Lot Continuation1.2km. ..
Bada scenic spot needs to show tickets, which means Bada is of course one of the most magnificent places in the whole scenic spot, and in fact it is. In the deep valley, terraces are densely arranged like Longlin, covered with tall bodies, and at first glance, they are magnificent.
After entering, you can walk about 700 meters along the scenic trail with complete facilities. It is not difficult to walk. The further you go, the more beautiful the scenery will be. There are not many people here. It should be affected by the epidemic. However, judging from the signs reminding tourists not to compete for the camera position and not to climb over the guardrail, it is definitely difficult to find here during the peak season, so it is best to come early.
Bada scenic spot is a famous place to watch the sunset scenery, but I think the first ray of sunshine at sunrise should be beautiful on the terraced fields and the mountains behind. Unfortunately, tickets can only enter each scenic spot once, and tourists have to struggle to choose when to enter the scenic spot.
8. Shengcun: The most prosperous place in the whole scenic spot.
There are some small shops, restaurants and inns, and we also chose an inn here.
In fact, it is also a good place to see the sea of clouds. We can see the beauty of the sea of clouds from the roof of the inn and even the room.
The sea of clouds in the dry season can only be seen in the morning after the rainy night.
9. Eagle Mouth Observation Deck: From Shengcun, drive 3.8 kilometers along the feast section and Zhulu section.
The Eagle Mouth Observation Deck is also said to be an excellent place to watch the sunset.
But there is no parking area like other observation platforms. Only one or two cars can be parked on the narrow gravel slope on the roadside. Fortunately, when I came, there was no one. Almost abandoned facilities and "no viewing here" signs seem to be rejecting tourists. I soon found the answer. There is almost always a gale of ten or more here. The camera tripod is dead, and the camera bag is even more unstable. After a few minutes, I felt my temperature was evacuated. I wanted to grit my teeth and wait for the beautiful sunset, but I had to run away after ten minutes.
10, Mali Village: A little further along the Eagle Mouth is Mali Village.
It is said that it used to be a famous scenic spot, but now it has been slowly forgotten like an eagle's mouth.
There is a parking lot in the center of the village. Residents in the village are five yuan, and people in other villages are eight yuan, but it seems that no one is on duty at all.
It's worth seeing here. The village is relatively primitive and complete. From here, you can walk to Ruomadian Terrace, and those who are strong can walk to Qingkou Terrace.
1 1, Hani Four Seasons Observation Deck: On the way from Shengcun along the feast section to Duoyishu, you will pass by Hani Four Seasons Observation Deck first.
Strangely, most guide maps and navigation software do not include this place. The scenery here is just so-so, but the table is quite big. But you can see the village next to the terrace at close range, which should be Walnut Village.
12, Huangcaoling observation deck: between Hani Four Seasons and Duoyishu.
After the four seasons in Hani, we will pass the Huangcaoling observation deck on the way to Duoyishu. The signboard here is very small, there is no parking lot, and it is easy to be missed, but the scenery is actually quite good.
13, Duoyishu Scenic Area: It is more than 4 kilometers from Shengcun to Duoyishu.
Like Bada, there are magnificent terraced fields, so you need to show your tickets. The ticket inspector here is estimated to be the earliest one to get up among all the employees in the scenic spot.
Contrary to Bada, this is the best place to watch the sunrise.
My personal suggestion is that you'd better put on a pair of headphones, listen to some light music and enjoy the gentle morning light, otherwise the sound of drones whistling overhead will more or less interfere with the mood of enjoying the beautiful scenery.
14, Tiger Mouth Scenic Area: the saddest place.
Tiger Mouth Scenic Area, once the king. But last year, a flash flood triggered a landslide, which covered nearly 6,000 acres of terraced fields and completely destroyed the scenic spot. I don't know when it will be restored. In fact, this is exactly our dissatisfaction with the seemingly magnificent scenery of Yuanyang terraces.
In fact, Hani terraces pay attention to four elements: rivers, terraces, forests and villages. Only when these four things are perfectly and harmoniously unified can it be a complete ecosystem.
However, in Yuanyang, these four elements have been successfully halved, leaving only terraced fields and villages that attract tourists most, and there are not many forests, which may not be a good thing for soil and water conservation. Of course, I am not sure that the collapse of the tiger's mouth must be this reason, and I am not sure that there are more forests in Yuanyang than now.
But after leaving Yuanyang, we did see different terraces. There were trees in the fields and rivers by the fields, which really looked much better. Because I'm not in Yuanyang, I'll write a separate article another day.
Yuanyang's experience and suggestions.
Yuanyang gave us the impression that the law and order was good. In order to find the lost drone, we were still wandering at the entrance of Mali village after dark, and the car stopped there for a long time without any trouble.
Most villagers are very simple. We lost the drone, and some villagers enthusiastically took us to the village Committee. The village Committee immediately tried to help us (although someone finally found it and asked for money, I think it is natural for me to pay for my mistake since I lost the drone. It's just that his asking price is too high I don't want picking up drones to become an industry waiting for him in the future, so I would rather buy new ones and bear more economic losses.
The innkeeper is very kind and takes pains to cook local specialties for us every day.
It is the first time to know that pomegranate flowers can be eaten, and it is also the first time to eat this complex and delicious food. It takes at least three days to fry pomegranate flowers, from picking and preparing ingredients, to removing stamens, blanching, soaking and frying, one after another, and finally becoming our food, before charging for a bowl of noodles, which makes us very moved.
And it took us a day to find the unknown scenic spot they found for free. I will stay at her house every time I come here in the future. In order to avoid advertising suspicion, I won't say the name of the inn. Friends in need, if you can accept it, whether it is a luxury hotel or a country inn, talk alone.
Tofu is eaten by the block in the market. Grandma just buried herself in baking tofu for us and didn't see how much we took. She often asks us to remind her how many more there are before adding a few to the counted corn kernels shyly. These scenes, which are hard to find in a metropolis like Beijing, warm our hearts again and again.
Most of the scenic spots in the whole scenic area have obvious signs, which are easy to be found. Huangcaoling and Eagle Mouth are exceptions.
The road conditions in the scenic spot are not bad. The road surface is a regular small stone road, which is a little bumpy and consumes a lot of oil. But walking is not a big problem. The biggest advantage of this kind of pavement is that unless the vehicles are scrapped ten years in advance and turned upside down, no one wants to drive too fast, so there is no need to worry about speeding, which protects the villagers and poultry and livestock to the greatest extent.
However, the roads to Yingzui Village and Mali Village are very poor, not only narrow but also bumpy. It seems that those two places were really kicked out of the circle of friends by Yuanyang.
Be sure to fill it up before you come to the scenic spot. There is no gas station in the whole scenic spot, and the nearest gas station is in Xinjie Town.
If you want to hike in the terraced fields, a pair of good shoes is essential. You can only walk on the ridge most of the time. Be careful. First, don't destroy the terraced fields that farmers have worked so hard to build with their hands; The next day, the water in the field was waist deep, and I saw the snake with my own eyes. It should be non-toxic, but meeting unexpectedly will definitely be a shock.
Most of the observation platforms in the scenic area are at the top of the mountain and halfway up the mountain. There will be no wind on the observation deck, but a strong crosswind will suddenly blow in the valley, not to mention drones, and even helicopters may blow off. Don't ask me how I know this.
Mountains are high and valleys are deep, and the weather is changeable. Sunrise and sunset can not be seen every day, so it is better to prepare for a few more days. We stopped by the museum on the day we left Yuanyang, but we couldn't get in because of the power failure. Friends don't do such stupid things in the future. You'd better go to the museum when you get to Yuanyang. Anyway, no one can move the terrace. There is no electricity in the museum, but wind energy can enter, rain can enter, and you can't.
If you want to hike in the terraced fields, you must do a good job of sun protection and then carry a lot of drinking water. Don't fantasize about walking past the convenience store 7 1 1.
