Sima Guang's former residence scenic spot is located in the middle of the main street in Guangshan County, Henan Province. It is the birthplace of Sima Guang, a famous politician, historian and writer in the Northern Song Dynasty. (This photo/Che Jixin)

According to the county records, the official residence faces south and enters the second place. The courtyard is a quadrangle. Outside the north eaves of the gatehouse, there are zhaobi, front hall, wing, study and back hall. They are all brick and wood buildings with hanging mountains.

There are cypresses, walnuts, phoenix trees and a well (Sima well) in the yard.

The former residence has been completely renovated, with an area of1.330m2.. There are two doors in the east and west, and the quadrangle falls in a pattern.

There is a life showroom of Sima Guang in the south, a folk showroom in the back hall in the north, Sima Jing and Yang Cuiting in the center of the courtyard, and a group of statues of "Sima Guang smashing jars" under the wall of the west courtyard. A thousand-year-old cypress is planted outside the East Gate. The courtyard is winding and secluded, with lush flowers and plants, small bridges and flowing water, quiet and elegant.

There are precious cultural relics such as stone tablets carved in the Song Dynasty and stone lions in the Yuan Dynasty in the former residence.
