Dior's new style

Designer Christian DIOR, whose works have caused an earthquake in the fashion world since their release.

His bold Corolla dress was unveiled in February. 1947. Its name comes from botanical terms, which means open petals. This design heralds the arrival of a new era of luxury. His works make the hourglass waist return, which is contrary to the male style influenced by the uniform form. This design was quickly called a "new look" by Carmel Si Nuo, editor of the American edition of Harper's Bazaar, and the magazine also published a series of illustrations of the tailoring of this dress.

Dior's design needs a lot of fabrics, and the fashion shop is funded by Marcel Busek, a fabric manufacturer. At the same time, it inherits the romantic and nostalgic feminine style of the good times, which has triggered a craze in the fashion publishing industry and made post-war Paris become the center of international fashion again.

Photographer Richard Averton captured the pose of model Renee striding across Place de la Concorde and the envious eyes of passers-by, bringing this sculptural suit to life.

The hat of this suit is inspired by the style of military uniform. The hourglass waist highlights the female figure, the fur edge highlights the luxury, and the wide skirt spreads like petals, which is very feminine.
