Who's Mark?

Mark, also known as the Mark Brothers, is a character in John Woo's film Hero, played by Chow Yun Fat. In the play, Mark is the boss of Hong Kong underworld, and Song Zihao (Tommy Tam) are brothers and comrades.

I have to say that Mark's screen image has become the memory of our whole generation. He was smart when he lit a cigarette with money, lonely when he looked back on the past, heroic when he avenged his brother, and persistent when he vowed to get his things back because of his broken leg. Even though his future was uncertain, he said in Guan Gong Temple that "God is the one who can control his destiny", ignored his fate and finally died in the rain of bullets, which was terrible.

All these things have been deeply engraved in our minds. Although Mark is a gangster and vicious, he is handsome and brave at the same time, and values the friendship between brothers more than his own life. It is such a man with a clear distinction between good and evil, and his fate affects our nerves. His fate is also tragic. He avenged his brother's broken leg, but when he wanted to make a comeback, it was his brother's incomprehension.
