Film is the most important photographic image medium after photography, and the image is formed after exposure through silver halide coating. Silver halide photosensitive materials can be classified according to different methods. According to the color tone of imaging, it is divided into black and white photosensitive materials and color photographic materials; According to the carrier used, it is divided into film (film), dry plate and photographic paper; According to the photosensitive characteristics, it can be divided into three categories: ① negative photosensitive materials with high sensitivity are used to shoot scenes directly. After shooting and developing, the obtained image is opposite to the brightness of the subject (black and white photosensitive material) or complementary color (color photographic materials). ② Positive photosensitive material, with high contrast and resolution, is used for printing or enlarging from negative film and copying from film negative film. After exposure and development, the brightness or color of the obtained image is basically the same as that of the original scene. (3) Using reversed photosensitive materials, the sensitivity is high, the scene can be directly photographed, and the positive image can be directly obtained after reversed development. In practical application, the most extensive classification is by use.

Film is used for professional photography (artistic photography, industrial photography, etc.). ) and amateur photography. Because it is used to shoot scenes directly, it needs high sensitivity. Can be classified according to the level of sensitivity: according to the tone of the image, it can be divided into black and white film and color film; According to the development method and imaging characteristics, it can be divided into negative film and reverse film. In recent years, the disc film has been invented, that is, the film is arranged in a disc shape, and then rotated once, and its picture is obviously reduced, but it still maintains good photographic quality. Of course, there are other types of films, so I won't go into details.

There is no problem shooting night scenes with film with sensitivity of 200, but high sensitivity will make the image have more particles. If you want to get a delicate image, it is recommended to use a film with a sensitivity below ISO 100. Unless you are looking for coarse grain effect, you can use high-gloss film.

The lower the film sensitivity, the finer the image, which is suitable for taking commercial photos such as scenery and still life. High-sensitivity film is suitable for shooting in poor light environment, such as news or emergency records, and is also suitable for artistic creation that pursues coarse-grained image effects;

Negative film can also be used to scan negative film directly, which can be set on the negative scanner. When setting, select negative film and scan the image as positive film.

There are many brands of negative scanners on the market, which can directly scan positive and negative films; It is divided into 120 and 135 formats, which correspond to the film you use. For example, if you use 135 film, you can buy 135 frame for bottom scanning; if you use 120 medium format film, you can use 120 frame for bottom scanning.

The main brands are: Heidelberg, Lulailai, Hasselblad, Sony, Epson, Canon, Lean, Nikon, Ziguang and Acer.

Different scanners have certain differences in color reproduction, but the deviation will not be too big. High-end scanners in Germany and Europe and America generally have good color reproduction, but they are expensive. They are mainly used for professional image processing, such as prepress system equipment, large and medium-sized image processing and film production. Generally, there is little difference between domestic and civilian scanners, so it is enough to be professional as far as possible. Special attention should be paid to the bottom scanning effect of special negative scanner compared with plane scanner.

I hope it helps you.
