How to clean camera lens

1. Mold: If there is mold inside the lens, it needs to be sent to a professional shop for cleaning immediately. It is easy to cause damage to the lens if you handle it yourself. Don’t show off if you are inexperienced. If there is mold on the outside of the lens, if there is less mold, you can directly clean it. Use commercially available medicinal hydrogen peroxide, dilute it half and then wet it with lens cleaning paper to wipe the lens. If there is a lot of mold, soak it in hydrogen peroxide for half a minute (it must be taken out as soon as possible), and then wipe it with anhydrous alcohol wipes or cotton cloth. (The kind used for mobile phone screens is also acceptable).

2. Simple dust and dust accumulation: ① Blow up a balloon, similar to the one in the picture. (Please do not try to blow with your mouth: it is easy to blow out saliva and make it more dirty than the gain is worth the loss. Do not use something to fan the air, which may easily cause dust to enter the gaps in the lens, etc.)

② Lens cleaning cloth/lens paper, If there is very little dust, just wipe it gently. (Remember not to use too much force, and don’t use cheap napkins, toilet paper, etc. One lens sometimes has several kidneys. It is forbidden to use glasses cloth.)

③ Lens pen, take a breath (Don't blow too hard, as water will fly off.) Then use the cortical end of the pen to wipe clockwise or counterclockwise to avoid wiping back and forth, which can easily cause scratches. (Stop as soon as it is clean. Rubbing too much can cause problems, and it needs to be done in time. Replace the lens pen to avoid lens problems caused by damage to the lens pen)

④ Lens cleaning fluid (do not use unless it has stubborn stains) The cheap cleaning fluid on the market can cause lens deformation in severe cases, even if it is of good quality Yes, the protective film - coating on the lens will be washed off after long-term use. The trouble is that when drying the lens, it is easy to attract dust and other particles, which is equivalent to wasting work.

3. Fingerprints: Fingerprints are the most common situation that requires cleaning. But the steps are also more detailed. First, use a blower to remove the fine particles on the surface (don’t think you won’t use it if you don’t see it, after all, the particles are sometimes very small, but they can also scratch the lens); second, use a lens cloth or Wipe the lens paper spirally from the center of the lens from the inside out. If it is difficult to clean, the lens paper can be dipped in a small amount of alcohol or ether and then wiped; if it is not cleaned at this time, use a cotton ball dipped in a little lens cleaning fluid. Wipe, and if there are any traces after air drying, wipe gently with absorbent cotton cloth (minimize wiping and reduce unnecessary damage)

As an extra point, when cleaning the lens, wipe the entire machine with a lens cloth, sharp Dip a small amount of lens cleaning fluid into the cleaning cotton to clean the gaps in the body. (Particles in the gaps will cause wear and tear on the fuselage, which in the long run will affect the life of the machine itself)

Here comes the important point! So how do we maintain our lenses? Especially for photography friends who are in the novice stage?

1. The most useless thing is to reduce the closeness between your fingers and the camera. No communication is the best!

2. Wrap your favorite lens in a 360-degree angle without blind spots, buy front and rear covers (usually standard, buy them immediately if they disappear), lens hood (the key to saving your life when the lens falls vertically), and UV protection Filters (good filters do not affect the feeling of taking pictures, and can prevent scratches and dust accumulation on the lens)

3. When used in a windy and sandy environment, the machine should be put away immediately after the shooting is completed. Put it into the camera bag, and when not in use, cover the lens cap or install a UV filter to protect the lens. (Don’t be lazy when taking care of the lens)

4. When shooting in the snow, please warm up before taking pictures (an inevitable problem for any machine when changing environments); secondly, some cameras’ standard battery packs can Place it in your pocket and connect it to your camera with a cord to keep the battery warm. If your camera doesn't do this, warm the battery beforehand.
