What happened when four teenagers in Hebei drowned and stole sand and stones, causing the riverbed to be covered with deep pits?

At about 0/9 o'clock on June 26th, five boys from Xiaoyou Village, Yonghe Town, Yongnian District, Handan City, Hebei Province were playing by the Weihe River in the north of the village, and four of them suddenly fell into an underwater pit and died. After the joint rescue of local villagers, firefighters and public security, as of 2 am yesterday, all four drowning boys were found, but sadly, they all had no vital signs. Another boy escaped because he didn't want to get dirty and didn't get into the water.

It is understood that among the five teenagers, the oldest is 19 years old and the youngest is 15 years old. One of them just finished the senior high school entrance examination, and the other four dropped out of school. Survivor Xiaogang (pseudonym) 15 years old. He studied in Yu Yongnian No.4 Middle School and dropped out of school last year. On the day of the incident/around 0/4 of Kloc-0, Xiaogang went out by bike alone and met four friends in the village. Then five people went to an Internet cafe in Lushan. After playing games in the Internet cafe for more than three hours, five people rode around on electric cars for more than half an hour. Because of the hot weather, five people discussed going to play with water. After crossing the village, they came to the river in the north of the village. Several teenagers took off their clothes and got into the water. Xiao Gang stayed alone on the shore because he loved cleanliness since childhood and didn't want to get dirty.

After about 10 minutes, Xiao Gang was surprised to find that two partners were gone, and the other two were struggling desperately, with their heads above the water. Frightened Xiaogang shouted for help, but no one around answered. He immediately turned and ran to the village, calling for help while running, and even lost his shoes.

Afterwards, local villagers, firefighters and public security personnel rushed to the scene and used various tools to carry out rescue. At about 22 o'clock, two of them were found. As of about 2 am the next day, the last drowning person was also salvaged ashore. Due to the long time of falling into the water, all four teenagers have unfortunately drowned.

According to the villagers, the river in the north of the village usually has a small water flow, but some people are driven by interests and steal sand and stones in the river at night, resulting in deep pits of different sizes all over the river bed. It is difficult for people to identify the hidden deadly trap below through the water surface. Not long ago, a man drowned in nearby waters.

Grandpa Xiaogang, who is over 60 years old, said that because he grew up by the river, almost all his generation had good water, but most of today's children can't swim. His grandson Xiaogang is really lucky because he didn't return to the water this time. In order to avoid such a tragedy from happening again, he hopes that parents will strengthen their control over their children, and at the same time, it is best to let their children learn to swim.

The bloody lesson tells us that parents must educate their children not to swim in the water without permission, and warn those who dig sand and stones without permission that illegal mining is a crime according to Article 343 1 of the Criminal Law.
