How to adjust the color temperature when shooting at night?

Generally, the color temperature for shooting night scenes is set at 3500k, which is not bad.

Night shooting skills:

(1) Generally speaking, photographers like to use a smaller aperture value (about F8 to 1 1) to increase the exposure time, except for special needs. Smaller aperture can make the distant view and the close view equally clear and detailed, especially the neon signs in the shop window can be clearly displayed, otherwise the neon signs will form a mass of light and look blurred. But people can't be photographed, so if you want to photograph the crowd in the night scene as the main body, you have to use a larger aperture (F5.6 or so, which will blur the background) or use high sensitivity (ISO) to increase the shutter speed.

(2) In order to shoot a charming night scene, it is best to make one or two exposure compensation adjustments when shooting. If you shoot in shutter priority mode or aperture priority mode, there will often be overexposure, so you need to adjust the exposure value.

(3) When shooting city night scenes, the setting of white balance is very important. At night, incandescent lamps, fluorescent lamps, mercury lamps and other artificial light sources with different color temperatures are often used in urban streets and other places. Different settings of white balance will have a great influence on the tone of the picture, especially when shooting with automatic white balance. Due to the change of composition and different light sources, the tone of the picture will change greatly, and it is difficult to obtain the ideal tone, so it is best to set the white balance manually when shooting at night. ?

(4) If you shoot night scenes under street lamps, it is best to set the white balance in the sunshine mode in order to obtain the warm tone effect. Because the sunshine mode emphasizes the warm color of orange under this light source condition, the picture has a fairy-tale dreamy atmosphere, which is much better than automatic white balance shooting. When shooting night scenes, set the white balance to incandescent mode. The white balance will control the red tone of the light, and the picture will become cold tone, which can basically reproduce the original color of the night scene.

(5) When shooting people at night, be sure to pay attention to what light source the person being photographed is in, and set the white balance correctly according to the light source. Generally speaking, when shooting people at night, the white balance is basically set to sunshine mode, especially in winter, the picture will be warmer. If it is set to incandescent mode, although people's skin color and clothes color are normal, the picture is slightly cool. If the automatic white balance is set when shooting people under electric light source, the picture will have a little red tone, and the automatic white balance will automatically adjust other light sources in the background, so the tone of the whole picture is relatively gentle.

(6) Because it is difficult for ordinary digital camera focusing sensors to accurately focus on scenes with low contrast and low brightness, when focusing on night scenes, try to focus on bright scenes, and then lock the focal length for composition. Of course, you can also switch to manual focusing and use LCD to see the focusing effect. Roughly estimate the distance between the scene and the camera, and then select the appropriate focal length through the numerical display of LCD. It is best to avoid using flash when shooting night scenes, which will destroy the atmosphere of the scene, and the general random flash will not play much role in shooting night scenes.
