Which cities in China will snow?

Most cities in northern China will snow in winter, while some cities in southern will snow.

The climate in northern China is cold, and it snows in winter in most cities, such as Beijing, Shijiazhuang, Shenyang, Harbin, Changchun and Zhengzhou. In the south of China, cities in the south of the Yangtze River and South China, such as Nanjing, Shanghai, Wuhan and Changsha, also have a certain chance of snowing, while in Lingnan areas, such as Guangzhou, Quanzhou and Xiamen, it generally doesn't snow unless there are extreme weather conditions.

Extended data

The conditions for snow are:

1, water vapor saturation. Water droplets can only grow when the relative humidity is not lower than 100%; When the relative humidity is less than 100%, ice crystals can often grow. The lower the temperature, the less humidity is needed for the growth of ice crystals. Therefore, in the high-altitude and low-temperature environment, ice crystals are more likely to be produced than water droplets.

There are condensation nuclei in the air. If there is no condensation nucleus, the water vapor in the air will condense into water droplets only if it is supersaturated to the degree of relative humidity above 500%. But such a large supersaturation phenomenon will not exist in the natural atmosphere. So without condensation nuclei, it is difficult for us to see rain and snow on the earth.
