How to pat your eyes

As the saying goes, "the eyes are the windows of the soul", and the eyes are the most important feature in portrait photography. Beautiful eyes can make the most boring portrait photography fascinating. So, how to shoot to make your eyes stand out in the close-up of people?

1, sparkling eyes are the most charming.

People often compare the eyes to the windows of the human soul. If the model's eyes are dim when I shoot, it will not only create a lonely atmosphere, but also distort the model's personality. On the contrary, if the eyes are big and shiny, then the whole face will be full of vitality, and the eyes are of great significance to people's facial image.

As we all know, Asian eyes are black. If it is small and dull, it will look dull, so I will highlight my eyes when shooting. The shooting method of shining eyes is an important factor in beautifying characters. If you want people to shine, you must learn how to create the light of the eyes. A light source as bright and as big as lighting is close to the model's face. At this time, there will be high highlights in people's eyes, which is what we call vision.

You can see the eyes in the last article. How to deal with a character's eyes? Take good photos with your eyes.

2. A sense of binocular balance

We all know that people's faces are asymmetrical. Most people's left and right faces are different, and occasionally we can see people with symmetrical faces. Careful observation of these people's facial features will reveal that their eyes are basically the same in size and shape.

Therefore, in portrait photography, we should first carefully observe the size and shape of the model's two eyes, and try to shoot symmetrical eyes by using the far-near effect. If the model has a big left eye and a small right eye, I will ask the model to turn her head to the left to narrow the distance between the lens and the right eye. In this way, the larger left eye is farther away from the lens, thus showing a pair of eyes of commensurate size in the photo; If the right eye is big and the left eye is small, sometimes I will take the opposite method to keep the bigger eye away from the lens, so as to adjust the symmetry of the eye.

3. Eye direction attracts the visual center

Whether it is animals or people, it is easy to get tired of the camera. Looking out of the picture, you can feel the subject's thoughts, vitality and emotional fluctuations, and there will be a sense of extension in composition, which will bring infinite reverie to people.

4. Close-up of pupil and iris

The iris is the colored part of the eye, usually near the eyelid. In other words, there should be no large white space between the eyelid and the bottom or top of the iris. If this gap is exposed, let his or her eyes look up or down. The size of the pupil is also important.

Look up and eliminate the big white space.

If you shoot in bright light, your pupils will become smaller and you will look sharp when shooting. To correct this situation, let them close their eyes for a while before shooting. This will restore the pupil to its normal size and then expose it.

5. Use the eyes to express the mood of the characters (portrait)

As we all know, there are only three elements that can express a character's heart: eyes, expressions and movements. Among them, the eyes are the most critical. In portrait photography, the successful use of eyes is helpful to express the feelings of characters. The rich emotional world of characters, whether it is happiness, anger, sadness, confusion or intoxication ... must be displayed through the window of the soul.

Show the characters through the eyes and the window of the soul.

6. Reflect the environmental background with eyes (documentary)

In addition to the inner world of the characters themselves, eyes have many functions. For example, the state of eyes can reflect the environment and background of the hero's time, whether he is around his warm family, on the battlefield where gunfire is flying, on a cheerful outdoor outing, or on the road of garbage collection in poverty. Especially documentary photography, a look may explain everything, or it may be a thought-provoking story!

Step 7 block up

By blocking your eyes, the proportion of your whole face will increase and everyone's attention will be on your eyes.

A. only show your eyes

Show only the eyes

If you wear colored cosmetic contact lenses, you can choose something similar in color to your eyes to cover the part behind the big block where only your eyes are exposed. Similar colors make the tone of photos more harmonious.

B.only one eye is exposed.

Cover half a face or an eye with props such as hands, walls and flowers to make the eye part more prominent and make the face smaller.
