Bai Shen's life story

Bai Shen (1922 ~ November 5, 22) graduated from the High School Attached to Shanghai Zhizhi College in 1935. In 1938, he joined the "Amateur Drama Club" and "Drama Friendship Club" and began to get in touch with drama performances. In 1939, he joined the New Fourth Army and worked as an actor in the Military Service Corps of the New Fourth Army in southern Anhui and the Lu Xun Art Work Corps.

Since p>1941, he has served as an actor of Shanghai Drama Club, Shanghai Meiyi Drama Club, Shanghai Art Troupe and Shanghai Lianyi Drama Club. He has starred in Love Song, hunchback of notre dame, Man Jiang Hong and Wen Tianxiang.

In p>1952, he was persecuted for participating in the patriotic and democratic movement and was deported by the British authorities in Hong Kong. After returning to Shanghai, he served as the director of Shanghai Film Studio. In 1955, his film The Storm of the South Island won the second prize of excellent film from 1949 to 1955 by the Ministry of Culture.
