However, the protagonist we are going to introduce today is a new generation of 12.7 mm high-precision sniper rifle developed by Hunan Institute of Weapons and Light Weapons, which made a stunning appearance at the 12th Zhuhai Air Show.
For a long time, developed countries such as Europe and America have been leading in the field of sniper rifles, and sniper tactics have become an important means of special operations. In order to meet the requirements of daring to fight and winning, China continues to exert its strength in the field of sniper rifles, and various high-precision sniper rifles are being used in generate. Well-known such as CS/LR4 7.62mm (7.62x51NATO) high-precision sniper rifle system for foreign trade, NSG-NSG-50.50 (50(.50×99NATO) non-automatic sniper rifle and QBU 10 12.7 mm semi-automatic sniper rifle equipped by the military. Hunan Weapons and Light Weapons Research Institute Co., Ltd. has successfully developed a new domestic high-precision sniper rifle of 12.7mm in combination with the relevant needs of military trading companies and the suggestions of customers.
The whole system adopts 12.7× 108 mm caliber, and launches 12.7 mm special sniper bullets, which are used to accurately kill a single protected living target within1500m. The infrared thermal imaging module can be used day and night, and has the characteristics of large lethality, long range, high precision, good man-machine efficiency and low recoil. The weight of the whole gun (including empty magazine and tripod) 1 1.4 kg, the extension length 1500 mm, 5 magazines for ammunition, equipped with high-precision white light sight and infrared thermal imaging module. The whole gun adopts traditional supporting layout, non-automatic principle, rotary pull-back bolt, heavy-duty floating barrel, high-efficiency braking, adjustable trigger system and multifunctional stock. It has the advantages of reasonable layout and compact structure, and the dispersion density can reach about 0.8 ~ 1.3 moa at 1500m.

Innovation of scientific research model

With the increasing popularity of the large-caliber sniper rifle market, semi-automatic sniper rifles with the same caliber, that is, another type of large-caliber sniper rifles, have also been launched. The gun adopts the supporting structure, the principle of automatic air conduction and the rotary locking structure, and the ammunition adopts 10 magazine. The weight of the whole gun is less than 13.5 kg, and the length of the whole gun is less than 1500 mm, which has the characteristics of small recoil, great lethality and long range. At present, the gun has also been exported to the international market in batches, and the market response is good.
However, the fly in the ointment is that neither of these two sniper rifles has developed a special sniper bullet of12.7 mm. Hunan soldiers who climbed the peak of scientific research realized that the breakthrough of high-precision sniper rifles lies in the development of high-precision sniper bullets. Combined with the relevant technical indexes of this type of sniper rifle put forward by the military trade company, the company took the lead in reasonably combining bullets, guns, mirrors and shooters. Taking sniper rifle as the platform, it broke through three technical barriers, such as sniper bullet technology, high-precision barrel technology and high-precision white light sight technology, and successfully solved three major problems, namely, the matching of bullet and gun, the combination of man and gun, and the matching of gun and mirror. After hard technical research and repeated experiments, the problem of long-range high-precision shooting of 12.7mm sniper rifle was solved systematically, which laid a solid foundation for the successful development of 12.7mm high-precision sniper rifle.
"Consistency is accuracy"
In order to achieve long-distance high-precision shooting, there are two main problems to be solved: the consistency of the projectile when it leaves the muzzle and the advantages and disadvantages of the projectile flying in the air. The first problem includes the consistency of attitude, self-weight, geometric parameters and initial velocity when the projectile exits the muzzle. In order to solve these two problems, we must first solve the problem of ammunition consistency. The gun developed a special sniper bomb, which consists of a high-precision warhead, a copper shell, a propellant and a primer. Among them, the warhead consists of a bullet tip, a bullet body and a bullet core. After assembly, its coaxiality is small, the diameter tolerance is controlled at 0.0 1mm, and the weight tolerance is not greater than 0.01g. The internationally popular low-drag warhead design has excellent aerodynamic performance. In addition, the heavy warhead design ensures that the flying speed of the projectile at 1500m is still above the speed of sound. The cartridge case is made of special copper cartridge case, which is a special material for cartridge case, with high strength and good ductility, which is conducive to better fitting with the cavity. More importantly, the use of brass shell can better control the pull-out force, thus making the powder combustion more consistent. In the aspect of propellant, the key point is to choose the propellant with stable performance and low muzzle pressure. In addition, in the assembly process, the full-elastic assembly is carried out in strict accordance with the assembly requirements, and the parameters such as the full-elastic length and the full-elastic coaxiality are controlled. After the assembly is completed, check the parameters of the whole projectile to ensure that the weight, length, charge and coaxiality of the finished projectile are highly consistent.
Secondly, the gun is equipped with a high-precision barrel, which breaks through the consistency problem of high-precision barrel processing. Barrel is the soul of high-precision sniper rifle. People usually think that the heavier and longer the barrel, the better the accuracy, so they prefer to use heavy pike. However, the facts show that the secret of high-precision barrel is to adopt new high-temperature resistant barrel material, high-quality rifling forming technology, reasonable barrel structure design, high-precision coating technology, residual stress relief technology and floating installation method. Ensure the consistency of barrel firing in cold and hot conditions, the consistency of interior ballistic performance, the consistency of projectile motion in the bore and the consistency of barrel vibration during firing.
Thirdly, in the process of shooting, we must ensure the consistency of the shooter's shooting state. The gun is equipped with a high-precision white light sight, which makes the field of vision clearer, makes the shooter more comfortable to observe and helps to save energy; The gun adopts multi-functional stock, which has buffering function. Combined with efficient muzzle brake, the gun's sensible recoil is equivalent to the level of 7.62 mm rifle, and the shooter can shoot reliably in different postures such as standing posture, squatting posture and lying posture, which greatly reduces the psychological pressure of the shooter when shooting, and provides a guarantee for realizing conscious aiming and unconscious shooting. The shoulder rest can quickly adjust the shoulder rest length, the shoulder rest position and the height of the cheek sticking plate, realize natural cheek sticking and have good aiming repeatability; At the same time, the firing mechanism of the gun is redesigned, with adjustable trigger force and trigger stroke, which has the characteristics of small trigger force, obvious firing position and flexible trigger button. The aim point deviation caused by pulling the trigger is avoided, and the aim consistency is effectively ensured.
Repeated firing test
The test results should be reproducible, and reproducibility is the key index of credibility. In order to make the shooting test results highly credible and provide a basis for judging whether high-precision shooting is achieved, during the development of the gun, various shooting verification tests were carried out for high-precision performance requirements, at 100m, 300m, 600m, 1000m, 1500m and/kloc-0 respectively. During the test, at least two shooters shot in equal groups, each group shot 3 rounds, and the diameter of the dispersion circle of 3 rounds was measured. The shooting test results of different ranges and multiple shooters show that the average dispersion density of the gun is about 0.8 ~ 1.3 angle minutes (MOA) in the full range of 1500m, which realizes the high-precision breakthrough of the large-caliber sniper rifle.
