There are two schools of Taekwondo: ITF Taekwondo WTF Taekwondo What is the difference?

ITF Taekwondo is a traditional Taekwondo that has been handed down without any changes from the original Korean Taekwondo. Compared with WTF, it pays more attention to actual combat.

Technically, it also adds more punches on the premise of kicking. ITF Taekwondo and WTF Taekwondo are called Combat Taekwondo and Competitive Taekwondo respectively. They can also be understood as Korean Taekwondo and Korean Taekwondo respectively, because the latter is Taekwondo that evolved from Korean inheritance by changing and deleting many traditional Taekwondo techniques and elements. Taekwondo is used in competitions in the Olympic Games and is also a relatively common taekwondo.

ITF's technical and physical requirements are higher than those of WTF, and the most important thing is to focus on actual combat. ITF students usually start practicing actual combat after they become yellow belts. Although many techniques are not mature or have not been learned, they can still be used in actual combat. Start from the basics. In my personal practice of Taekwondo (I have practiced both), I feel that ITF's techniques are more delicate and more focused on lethality than WTF.

In addition to the ITF mentioned on the first floor, the gi has more lining (only black belt-level gi has lining). The ITF gi is double-breasted, while the WTF gi is pulled over. The gi is ITF. A single-layer belt is used, while WTF uses a double-layer belt (that is, longer and tied with two circles).

The assessment standards for promotion are also different. WTF needs to learn Tai Chi seals, while ITF learns North Korean routines. The Korean pronunciation is "Teer", and the physical fitness standard ITF for promotion is higher than WTF.
