Shi (19 18— 1998), a native of Panyu, Guangdong, 1932 studied in the junior high school and senior high school affiliated to Lingnan University in Guangzhou. /kloc-in the spring of 0/938, he went to Yan 'an, studied in Shanbei Public School and Anti-Japanese Military and Political University successively, and joined the China * * * Production Party in June of the same year; 1September, 939, he moved to the rear of enemy lines in North China with the general school of Kangda University, and served as a photojournalist for the press corps, director of the photography department of the political department of Jizhong Military Region, and director of the photography department. 1943 Deputy Director of Jinchaji Pictorial Newspaper in Jinchaji Military Region; 1948 vice president of North China Pictorial.

After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), he served as Deputy Secretary-General of the Central Press and Photography Bureau and Director of the Press and Photography Department; 1April, 952, served as the director of the news photography department of Xinhua News Agency; 1956 chairman of China photographic society; 1August, 959 served as vice president and director of photography department; 1969 was elected as an alternate member of the Central Committee at the Ninth National Congress of China * * * Production Party; 1970 secretary general of the State Council cultural group; 1973 was re-elected as an alternate member of the Central Committee at the 10th National Congress of the * * * Production Party in China; 1979 1 1 as vice president and member of the party group; 198 1 year concurrently served as the president of Xinhua Publishing House.

1982 after his retirement, he was elected as the first and second president of China Association of Senior Photographers. 1986 won the honorary title of "Honorary Outstanding Activist of the International Film Federation", and 1989 won the Overseas Writers Award of the 5th Dongchuan International Photography Festival in Japan; 1988 Lingnan Fine Arts Publishing House published Selected Stone Works, which included some of his works in different periods; 1995 To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the victory of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the anti-fascist war, the photo exhibition "Sha Fei and Shi Huashao" co-sponsored by China Photographers Association, China Senior Photographers Association and the Propaganda Department of Shenzhen Municipal Committee was exhibited in Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

1On June 30th, 998, Comrade Shi died in Beijing at the age of 80.
