What does the Sony camera model letter mean?

Sony is the leader of consumer electronics and one of the founders of digital cameras. In 1995, Sony and Panasonic developed a new DV-digital camera. On July 24th of the same year, Sony took the lead in showing home DV and home digital video recorder in Japan, opening a new era of home digital camera, announcing the birth of home digital camera and making it the leader of digital camera industry. Although Sony has many products, its naming is still very standard. In home digital cameras, Sony generally uses DCR-AABB format, and the former part uses DCR fixedly, which means Digital Video Camera Recorder, that is, digital camera. AA at the back indicates the series, such as TRV and HC series, and BB at the end is a number, indicating the model. Sony doesn't have many series of digital cameras. TRV series is the earliest one, which is a horizontal model. For example, the early classic DCR-TRV5, and the recent DCR-TRV33E, DCR-TVD8E and so on. Since 2, Sony has used brand-new HC series instead of TRV series, including DCR-HC15E, DCR-HC2E/3E4E and DCR-HC85E. Sony also has an upright PC series. Sony's first upright model DCR-PC1, released in 1998, has a net weight of only 46g, which is very light. This year, Sony released the mid-range PC model DCR-PC19E, and also released the high-end PC series model DCR-PC35E, equipped with a CCD with a total pixel of 3 million, which has a strong static shooting ability. In addition to the above series, Sony also has a few other models of digital cameras. The DVD series is DVDCAM, that is, a digital video camera using DVD as storage medium, which is also a new model released by Sony this year. At present, there are three models, namely DCR-DVD11E, DCR-DVD21E and DCR-DVD31E. The first two models have been sold in China. The other series is IP series. The camera body of this series is very small, the smallest is only the size of a playing card, and it uses MMV format (MICROMV), such as DCR-IP1E. In addition to the above mentioned, Sony's product model also has a regional sales code. For example, the letters E in DCR-DVD11E mentioned above represent products sold in China. Other regions, such as Europe, have special sales codes, while products sold in Japan generally do not have any sales codes.
