How to grasp color in photography

The higher the color temperature, the colder the overall color of the photo (blue, purple);

The lower the color temperature, the warmer the overall color of the photo (red and yellow);

The middle numerical color of color temperature is white, which is also called balanced color temperature.

Application method:

When shooting a snow scene on a cloudy day, the color temperature can be slightly raised above 5000K, so that the whole picture has a cold effect. Shooting cloudy snow scenes, if there is no shooting skill, the photos will be dry ash. If the color temperature is properly increased, the picture will have a sense of transparency in the cool blue tone.

If you shoot the sunset glow at night, the effect will be dull after shooting with ordinary methods, and the color of the light and shadow interface will be grayish yellow, and the tone adjustment will not be good in the later period; In this case, the color temperature can be properly adjusted to a lower color temperature, so that the color of the sunset glow is warmer and the effect is warm and gorgeous.

Indoor lighting is yellow, so the color temperature can be increased to obtain a proper white balance. The light in the morning is cold, so the color temperature can be appropriately increased to achieve the white balance of hue.

Here are two simple examples. The skill is so meticulous that you can't finish typing thousands of words. Knowing how to use them depends on your own experience in actual shooting, which is also one of the pleasures of photography.

The biggest advantage of digital camera is that it can preview the effect immediately after shooting, and take more photos with extreme color temperature to see where it is different.

Happy shooting!
