How to use a wide-angle lens

Wide-angle photography is shooting with a wide-angle lens. The field of view of a wide-angle lens exceeds 45 degrees. 45 degrees is the approximate viewing angle of a standard or ordinary lens for a known diaphragm. In any picture, the wide-angle lens is always shorter than the normal focal length. The imaging of this kind of lens is smaller than that of ordinary images, and it also contains more scenes. The size of the scene is proportional to the length of the focal length: the focal length of one lens is 1/2 of the other lens, and the magnification is only 1/2. The coverage of the field of vision is inversely proportional: if the focal length is halved, the size of the field of vision will double.

The medium wide-angle lens is used for narrow environment photography such as news photography and reports. It can also be used to take big photos. Compared with ordinary focal length, the aperture of wide-angle lens has a larger depth of field, which is especially useful when it is impossible to capture quickly and focus accurately. Compared with ordinary lenses, these lenses are somewhat exaggerated in perspective reproduction, especially when the subject is close to the camera or tends to shoot. The exaggeration of perspective will distort the vertical lines and spherical objects near the edge of the picture, and this distortion will become more and more obvious with the shortening of the focal length, so special attention should be paid to keeping the camera level when shooting.

If the viewing angle of an ultra-wide wide wide-angle lens is within 120 degrees, the edge will be seriously distorted, especially when the film plane of the camera is not parallel to the subject. Ultra-wide wide-angle lenses have enough depth of field even under large aperture, and sometimes the depth of field is too large to focus.
