Millennium mystery: the supernatural phenomenon of Famen Temple has been circulating for thousands of years.

Famen Temple is located in Famen Town, north of Fufeng County, Baoji City, Shaanxi Province 10 km, 20 km east of xi City10, and 96 km west of Baoji City. Founded in the Hengling period at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, it has a history of about 1700 years, and is known as the "ancestor of Guanzhong Pagoda Temple". Shanmen, the gate of the Buddhist temple, is named Shanmen because the Buddhist temple lives in the mountains. Generally, there are three doors, big in the middle and small on both sides, which symbolize "three doors", namely "empty door", "no door" and "no door". Therefore, the mountain gate is also called Sanmen, and the mountain gate is also another name for the temple.

The temple is a place where people practice precepts and seek nirvana, so they enter through three doors. All three doors are open. Which door do you go in from? Enter through the letter door. All saints and sages are equal, and only after the heart can evidence be obtained like a duck's back. Qian Dian was founded in the 28th year of the Republic of China (1939). In order to imitate the architecture of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, three saints of Hua Yan, General Wei Tuo and eighteen arhats were created in it.

According to experts' research, Famen Temple was built around 499 AD in the Northern Wei Dynasty, and the remains of thousands of Buddhas in the Northern Wei Dynasty were erected shortly after the tower was erected. At that time, it was called "Ashoka Temple" (or "Wuyouwang Temple"). During the Sui Dynasty, the Buddhist temples in the world were changed to Dojo, and Ashoka Temple was changed to "Chengbao Temple". The Tang Dynasty was the heyday of Famen Temple. With the prominent position of the royal temple, seven grand activities were held to welcome Buddha bones, which had a far-reaching impact on Buddhism and politics in the Tang Dynasty.

At the beginning of the Tang Dynasty, Gao Zu Li Yuan was renamed Famen Temple. In the second year of Wude (6 19), 80 monks from Li Shimin, King of Qin, stayed in Famen Temple, and Ye Hui, a monk from Changbao Temple, was the first abbot of Famen Temple. During the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty, Ashoka Tower was converted into a four-level wooden tower. Tang Daizong was renamed "National Protection Tower" in the third year of Dali (786). Since the Zhenguan period, the Tang Dynasty has spent a lot of manpower and financial resources on the expansion and reconstruction of Famen Temple. There are more and more halls, pavilions and pagodas in the temple, and the pagodas are more and more magnificent and wider in area, eventually forming a magnificent temple with 24 courtyards. The number of monks and nuns in the temple has grown from more than 500 in the Zhou and Wei Dynasties to more than 5,000, making it the largest temple in the "land of three auxiliary services".

Generally speaking, strange things or phenomena beyond common sense are called supernatural. Buddhists believe that these are all done by Buddhists and Bodhisattvas, or to show that Buddhism is boundless.

Colorful clouds are auspicious.

In the Northern and Southern Dynasties, Famen had not yet built a temple, but was just a holy tomb, where auspicious spirits often appeared. Sometimes colorful holy light gushes from the ground, flows around for miles, and even stays up all night. According to the investigation, this is the place where Ashoka supports the Buddha relic.

Zhongzong missed the opportunity to open the tower to welcome the Buddha's bones.

Emperor Tang Zhongzong once wanted to open the stupa to welcome the Buddha's bones, but every time he wanted to leave, it was always sunny, and he often gave up, and it was less than 30 years since he left.

Yingrui was renamed Famen Temple.

When I was in Tang Wenzong, the tower was full of auspicious clouds and auspicious light. People think this is an auspicious sign, so they temporarily changed Famen Temple to Fayun Temple.

The flood itself will not flood the bathroom.

In the third year of Taiping and Xingguo in the Northern Song Dynasty (AD 978), there were heavy rains and floods in Fufeng area, which destroyed crops and farmhouses in China, but the engraving in the bathroom of Famen Temple was safe and untouched.

Buddha relic reappears Buddha's birthday

During the period of 1987, Famen Temple was excavated day and night. Until the end of April, all the hardware and cultural relics were transported to Fufeng County Museum and began to clean up and protect. When cleaning up the four gobbledygook in the sandalwood letter, everyone patiently cleaned up one layer after another. It was not until one o'clock the next morning that the last layer of the bundle wrapped in the Millennium was opened, revealing the golden pagoda. When the golden pagoda was demolished, jade-like relics appeared in front of people, and everyone was very happy. It's raining now, just like the weather when Sakyamuni Buddha was born. Buddhists say this is an epiphany of the Buddha.

Jingyi prison Liu Lishen

Famen Temple greeted Master Yi Sheng and his party at Baolian Temple. In front of the Buddhist shrine, Master Jingyi from the prison held a solemn prayer ceremony. Suddenly, two golden lights flashed and the photographer immediately grabbed the lens and rushed out of the film. The red light in the shape of "human" separates the two mages from others, and the two mages Jingyi and Master Yi Sheng reproduce the pattern of floor tiles. The Buddhist community believes that the two masters have reached a high level of practice and have become Buddhists. Their bodies are usually transparent, especially their vitreous bodies.

Buddha light works

1September 29th, 994, the voice of 65438+ ten thousand monks chanting Buddha in Famen Temple shook the earth. On the eve of the upcoming "Opening Ceremony of Famen Temple Buddha's Bone to Taibai Chengguandeng Daxiong Hall". Accompanied by the farewell of gongs and drums, all localities and units carried plaques, picture frames and busts of monks in Chengguan into the Hall of Daxiong in batches.

At this time, the sky suddenly became bright, and two layers of five-color aura suddenly appeared in the sky between the real pagoda of Famen Temple and the Jubaoge of the museum. Someone shouted, "The Buddha shines brightly." At this time, chanting and gongs and drums are mixed together, and the waves are higher than the waves.
