What is the color matching in the later stage of the film? What models are there?

There are tens of millions of color combinations. When the colors are mixed together, it is not only the form that is presented to the naked eye, but also the atmosphere presented by the film and the inner world of the characters can be understood through these color combinations. But this part is mostly handled by film photographers and production designers, and it also belongs to the post-production stage of the film.

Complementary color mode: refers to the contrast effect formed by two corresponding colors, and it is also the most extensive color matching mode today. Warm colors and cool colors are used to emphasize contrast and enhance bright and prominent effects.

Similar color mode: refers to the composition of adjacent colors on the color ring, which shows the sense of coordination of the overall colors in the film. The TINT between them is flexible, neither too hot nor too cold, and will not show the strong effect of complementary color mode. Similar colors are usually used as landscape tones in movies to present a natural and soft feeling. The most common mode is to choose a main color system, then choose similar colors to match, and finally use black, white and gray to set off.

Tri-equal color matching mode: refers to the three colors separated by 120 on the color circle. Although the overall color saturation is not too high, it still gives a sense of vitality. The trisection color matching is the most unpopular color matching mode in movies, but it will still show amazing results if used properly.

Complementary color segmentation mode: similar to the corresponding relationship of complementary colors, but the difference between them is that complementary color segmentation combines the main color and its corresponding two sides. There are also strong contrasts, but the effect of tension is not obvious.

Rectangular color matching mode: it consists of two groups of complementary colors, usually with colorful feeling, but at least one main color should be used to highlight the effect.
