Regional division of Foshan map

Foshan, formerly known as Guangdong Central Administrative Office and Foshan Special Zone, governs the Pearl River Delta. As of 20 19, Foshan has five municipal districts: Chancheng District, Shunde District, Nanhai District, Sanshui District and Gaoming District.

Foshan is located in the middle of Guangdong Province, in the hinterland of the Pearl River Delta, adjacent to Hong Kong and Macao, Guangzhou in the east and Zhongshan in the south. Foshan and Guangzhou jointly form the "Guangzhou-Foshan Metropolitan Circle", vigorously promote the cooperation between Guangzhou and Buddhism and build an international metropolis. It is one of the cities in the Pearl River Delta, an important node city in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and an important part of "Guangfozhao Economic Zone" and "Pearl River-Xijiang Economic Belt".

The territory is flat, mostly alluvial plains, with rivers and canals and dense fish ponds. The annual average temperature is 265438 0.7℃, the monthly average temperature is 65438 0.2.8℃, and the July average temperature is 27.3℃. The annual average rainfall is 1630mm. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was one of the four famous towns in China, and now it is an important town in central Guangdong, with concentrated factories and enterprises, complete industrial categories and particularly developed light industry.

Textile, ceramics, household appliances, electronics and plastics are the five pillar industries in Foshan, and food, leather, chemicals, printing, building materials, pharmaceuticals, hardware, papermaking, casting and machinery also have considerable foundations.
