Sun Li's short story "Glory" original text
And this "Glory" has more than 9,000 words. Sun Li, who has always cherished ink like gold, painted such a colorful picture with thick ink and heavy colors, which is really commendable. The summary of the story of this novel is that in the early days of the Anti-Japanese War, two young men and women were mowing grass on the river beach and discovered a Kuomintang deserter hidden in the reeds. Encouraged by the girl, the young man jumped on him, kicked the deserter down, grabbed his gun and joined the anti-Japanese army. Because there had been no news for many years, his child bride at home became restless, while the girl who helped him get the gun waited for him for ten years until he returned after having made great achievements in capturing the Kuomintang brigade commander alive. In this work, the writer not only describes the picturesque wilderness scenery along the Hutuo River and depicts the play and joy of boys and girls, but also spends most of the page describing the girl's ten years of expectations and dedication. The joy and joy of the family when the hero returns home from his native land and the warm scenes of celebration. The novel writes: "The sky was sunny and it was another hot day. The whole village, men, women, old and young, all changed into new clothes and gathered around the stage first. On the stage, a congratulatory plaque "Special Meritorious Officer" from the people of the whole district was hung on the stage. Every village There were various congratulatory plaques and messages from the farmers' association. The stage and the stage were all covered with red and green silk, with gold and colorful flowers. All the primary school students in the district wore white towels and colorful clothes, and wore red silk ribbons around their waists. Holding flower sticks of the same color and wiping rouge on their faces, the teachers wiped the sweat from their faces and took care of them. "The writer described the scene of the parade after the meeting like this: "There are four wedding cannons at the front. There are four happy gunners in the district; two big red silk flags; one side says "Congratulations to the heroes" and the other side says "Salute to the heroes." "Behind are big gongs and drums, in the middle is a hero's plaque, the native is riding on a maroon horse, the bridle and the horse's neck are covered with flowers, the native's father and mother, all wearing new clothes, are sitting on a double mule cart, and behind are the primary school students. The team and the masses are beating out the gongs and drums, and the fields are steaming with steam after the rain, as if they are shaken by the sound of the gongs and drums. It was wet and hot and sweaty. The drummer was swinging his stick wildly, his back straight like a pillar holding a plaque, the native parents were sitting peacefully in the car, and the old men and women on the street were pointing. , said in unison: "How glorious it is to have such a good son, Xiu!" "Those young women were holding the hem of their clothes one by one, as if they were afraid of losing contact, and followed the natives to watch." The writer wrote with emotion: "The team passed through the fields and villages in the plains, with incomparable emotions. Loud sounds, extremely bright colors. The sun is in the sky, the flowers are on the branches, and the sound is beating from the famous drummer. It is a call that shakes people: Glory! ”
By reading In this wonderful novel, Sun Li brings us into the very grand and lively celebration parade scene, allowing us to see the familiar and friendly figures of the native hero, his parents and fellow villagers. After reading it several times, we naturally thought of Yin Yufen, a real super battle hero in Raoyang. Yin Yufen is from Yaozhuang Village, Raoyang County, less than three miles away from Guanting Village, where Sun Li carried out land reform. Moreover, Yin Yufen returned from her service in the summer of 1948 and held a celebration meeting throughout the district. At that time, in addition to the horseback riding parade, the Huoxian Drama Club in Jizhong also sang a drama for three consecutive days, which is still fresh in the memory of the elderly. Sun Li is a writer who is passionate about life. It seems that he must have attended this conference and may even have interviewed Yin Yufen in person. Otherwise, why are the protagonists of the novel, Yin Yuan Yuan, and Yin Yufen so similar. We have read a lot of Sun Li's biographies, essays and related comments, but it seems that this point has never been mentioned. So we started to investigate and visit, explore the hidden meanings, and make multiple arguments. We felt that this was a basically realistic novel, and the original prototype of Yin in the work was Yin Yufen. The origins, experiences, personalities, and characteristics of the heroes in this work are basically not fictitious. The celebrations, parades, speeches, and a series of scenes, situations, and atmospheres are completely described using realistic techniques, which are very consistent with the memories of the elderly. .
Combat hero Yin Yufen joined the Eighth Route Army in 1939 at the age of fifteen and served successively as a soldier, platoon leader, and deputy company commander of the 358th Brigade of the 120th Division of the Eighth Route Army. After joining the army, he made many meritorious deeds and intimidated the enemy. He once seized the Japanese's 38-gauge and light machine gun with his bare hands, and once killed seven Kuomintang bandit troops with a bayonet. The most outstanding thing was that in the famous Qinghua Bian battle during the defense of Yan'an, he fought hard and pursued fiercely. He captured the enemy Major General Li Jiyun alive and achieved special military exploits. His company was later named "Hard Bones" Sixth Company". In the summer of 1948, Yin Yufen was demobilized due to disability. Brigadier Yu Qiuli of the 358th Brigade personally helped him onto his horse and sent him on his way back home. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he returned to the army many times to give reports on heroes and models, lectured on the glorious traditions to cadres, masses and students, and even climbed the Tiananmen Gate Tower with party and state leaders. It is conceivable that when Yin Yufen returned to her hometown, Sun Li was in charge of land reform in the government office. Sun Li must have participated in or witnessed such a major event that caused a sensation in central Hebei. As a writer full of patriotic sentiments and very sensitive to new things, Sun Li probably visited Yin Yufen. Even if the two had no chance to talk, Sun Li must have learned a lot about Yin Yufen from the villagers. In the novel, Yin Yuan joined the army in 1939 and returned to his hometown in 1948. After he joined the army, he still had a not-so-decent child bride at home, and a series of storylines in which an infatuated woman who was passionate about anti-Japanese work was waiting for him at home, and what happened in real life. Yin Yufen is exactly the same. In particular, the novel twice writes that his great achievement was to capture the Kuomintang brigade commander alive. Such stories are not made up by Sun Li out of thin air.
When we visited the elderly in the village, they also said that although we have never read this novel, Yin Yufen's nickname is Yin Yuanzeng. It seems that the writer almost used the real name for this heroic character.
In the novel "Glory", a large amount of space and text are devoted to describing the infatuated woman, but not much is written about Yin Yuan. However, the writer's only two strokes vividly and vividly describe his temperament and character, which is very impressive. Just like Zhao Zilong, this unparalleled hero who killed all the enemy troops was actually a red-faced man who was not good at talking and did not like to show off. Sun Li wrote in the novel: "Then the native speech came. He spoke very slowly and quietly, and people in the audience said: His old temper has not changed, he is still so unhurried, how could he capture a brigade commander alive? ! Yuan Yuan said: I have made a small contribution; the audience said: Good guy, he said that capturing a brigade commander alive is a small contribution. Yuan Yuan said: This is not his own contribution, it is the contribution of all the people. The audience said again: Look at what people are saying." When writing about the parade, Sun Li wrote: "I was riding on the horse, a little shy, and kept wanting to get down, so the photographer quickly caught him." Judging from Sun Li's description, although this heroic figure has great achievements and is all-powerful, he is very humble, cautious, and even a bit shy. These are by no means "Gao Daquan" true descriptions, and they also confirm our unique impression of Yin Yufen during her lifetime. I remember that it was in the late 1980s, when the planned economy was still in place. Once, a tall and powerful old man with weak legs and feet came to the county government. He timidly said to the comrades on duty: "Help me find some affordable prices." Diesel, I need it urgently for watering the ground at home." “The author was working in the government at the time and asked: “Where are you from and what is your name?” He seemed to blush a little, hesitated and whispered: "My name is Yin Yufen." "It seems that he is reluctant to mention his name. This name is very familiar to us. We quickly gave up our seats and poured water, and asked him how much he needed. At that time, there was a big gap between the low price and the high price. If you had some low price indicators in your hand, you could make money by changing hands. As a hero like Yin Yufen, we should be satisfied if he opens his mouth wider, but he swallowed hard and said: "Fifty or sixty pounds will be enough, and a little more water will be enough!" "This is the hero in reality, and the real hero created by Sun Li. If he had not met Yin Yufen, the original image created by Sun Li would definitely be different.
Now, both literary masters and special meritorious officials have passed away. , but their achievements and writings have been passed down as eternal wealth. Sun Li wrote a novella and several short stories based on Raoyang's land reform life. He started writing after repeated digestion and deliberation of that period of life. It was only after he left Raoyang that he was able to write "Glory". After seeing the hero, he couldn't contain his burning passion. After working hard, he rushed day and night, writing in a hurry, in 1948. After it was completed on July 10, 2011, it was published in the first issue of "North China Literature and Art" at the end of that year. This fact also shows the status of this novel in Sun Li's mind.
