How to cut and synthesize a portrait

Lead: Most people like the picture to be relatively complete, because our eyes lack local viewing experience, so we should pay attention to the continuity of composition when cutting boldly to avoid giving people the feeling of incompleteness. The more parts of a picture contained in a photo, the more elements need to be controlled, which is more suitable for the overall performance. If we want to highlight a certain part of the main body, we need to use bold cutting to make a composition. Below I will explain in detail the cooperation between beauty and composition when shooting.

Bold cutting in close-up

In close-up composition, every part of a person can be the subject. In advertising shooting, some close-up parts, such as an individual's eyes or ears, will be photographed because of product promotion. In portrait photography, too biased shooting is easy to make the subject's five senses incomplete, so it is not commonly used. Close-ups of faces are taken the most, which means pushing forward on the basis of three compositions. If the subject's facial features are delicate, you can shoot with bold cutting on the composition. When shooting, we should pay attention to the smooth lines of the model's shoulders, neckline, chin and jaw line, and at the same time, the five senses should be exquisite, because if the lens is pushed closer, it will stand out in the picture if it is not careful. If you want to take a good close-up, you must first understand the aesthetic standards of the public: the shoulders should not be too thick, the neck should be slender, the proportion of facial features should conform to three stops and five eyes, the face should be oval or oval, the chin should be pointed, the eyes should be big, and the nose should be straight. Most people's five senses can't meet the above requirements, so we should adjust the aesthetic feeling of the subject when shooting, so as to meet the public aesthetic as much as possible.

When shooting from the front, we have two common methods to adjust our beauty. One is to let the subjects hold out their chests, press the back of their necks and extend their chins slightly forward. The advantage of this adjustment is that the shoulder line is narrowed and the chin is sharper. The shooting chances can be even or slightly higher. If the subject's face is round or his cheeks are wide, the camera position will rise again, which can make the subject's eyes bigger and his face smaller. Another method is to push the shoulders of the model forward, and the head can move up and down according to the face shape. The advantage of this adjustment is that the shoulder lines of the model are more bony and the clavicle is more prominent, which is generally suitable for more fashionable shooting.

Figure 1

In figure 1, the first method is used, because the model itself is thin, the clavicle is already prominent, and the right shoulder leans forward slightly to echo the turning point of the face. Because the hairstyle is higher, I cut the blank above my head to make my face stand out.

In Figure 2, the beauty of the model's hands echoes the eyes, and the eyes of the characters are often the most important part in the close-up picture. In most close-up portraits, the model is staring at the camera, which naturally attracts the attention of the audience and the subject. Communication? . This special? Directionality? If used properly, sometimes special effects can be obtained.

Figure 2

When the model's eyes are not staring at the camera, it is necessary to reserve some imagination space in the line of sight of the characters, so that the eyes can become an extension of composition.

In Figure 3, I adjusted the head of the model to tilt in the direction of the main light, so that the drop-down shadow and the face form a diagonal line. When the model's chin is low, her eyes look bright and radiant.

Figure 3

When composing a composition, you can boldly push the focal length forward and cut off the head and one side of the face of the model to make the eyes stand out.

In Figure 4, we can use props to enrich the close-up picture and see more. The model's head hangs to one shoulder, and her lips echo the flowers on one side. When shooting, the eyes and lips of the model are highlighted, so bold cutting is adopted, the head and a shoulder of the model are cut off, and horizontal composition is adopted to make the layout of flowers and faces full and perfect.

Figure 4

In figure 5, the model's face is turned inward, and the light makes the flowers leave a beautiful shadow on the model's face, which makes the two faces contrast.

Figure 5

When shooting, improve the position, increase the charm of the eyes, cut off the model's head and one side of the face, and make the shadow more prominent.

Figure 6 is our common composition method, especially suitable for guests with wide faces. When adjusting the beauty posture, let the subject turn his face to one side and cut off one cheek when cutting, so that his face will not widen; If you want to highlight your eyes, cut off the head above; If the shoulders or arms are thick, cut them all off or leave a part, so they won't be fat.

Through this adjustment of aesthetic feeling and composition, such close-ups can be suitable for everyone.

Bold tailoring in pursuit of special effects

In photos or double shots, we occasionally use bold cropping. Through bold cutting, the photo shooting makes the style of the picture stronger, the consciousness more rebellious and leaves a deeper impression on people. When shooting in pairs, we will cut off one of them to make the other stand out, so as to achieve the effect of one virtual reality and one subject at a time. Or through one person's body parts to set off another person's mood and expression.

If the picture is beautifully cut, it will leave a deep impression on people; If it is not cut properly, it will stand out. Therefore, we should pay attention to the layout of points, lines and surfaces of the picture and the relationship between the four sides of the picture frame. The second cutting will weaken the perspective of the picture, so the shooting should be completed at one time and cannot rely on the later cutting.

In Figure 7, the focus of beauty design is the butterfly on the face. Through the contrast between cool color and warm color, we can add more attention to the picture. When cutting, you can boldly cut off the lower part of the model's head and increase the area facing forward to highlight the butterfly.

Figure 7

Through the illustration just now, we should understand the main points of face cutting, that is, we should focus on the adjustment of beauty and then highlight the key points. This key need is the advantage of the subject's five senses, usually eyes and lips, as well as hairstyle and makeup. In the design of beauty, the shoulders, neck and head are reversed, and the face is turned around to make comprehensive adjustments to highlight the parts we want to show. In addition, increasing the coordination of gestures and props can enrich the overall picture.
