How to shoot a meteor shower with a mobile phone or camera? ,,
First of all, when preparing equipment, I strongly recommend preparing a camera with interval photography function. At present, most new cameras are equipped with this function. If not, buy an electronic wire releaser suitable for your camera for about 100.
It is recommended to prepare a wide-angle large aperture lens for shooting starry sky. Shoot the meteor shower because it appears randomly in the whole sky. So a wide angle can often catch more meteors. When shooting, I prepared a Sigma 20mm F 1.4ART lens, which is also a common starry lens.
At the same time, the maximum aperture of this lens can reach F 1.4, and the dark light shooting ability is still very strong. It is two steps larger than the common big ternary F2.8 maximum aperture. This means that you can catch darker meteors.
You can usually shoot at night. In the above picture, I started at 8 o'clock, arrived at 1 1, started preparing, setting up and shooting at 1, and finished shooting at1in the morning.
Set up the tripod and set up the machine when shooting. Because the environment is dark, I usually take a few pictures first and choose the shooting range. The dark naked eye is often not accurate enough.
When determining the framing range, the composition is also completed. I suggest that if possible, try to put Polaris in the center, or at a position not too far from the edge. This is convenient for the later stage and has a good photo-taking effect. The composition should also leave enough space for the sky, so the ground scenery should be pressed down as much as possible. Don't divide it into three parts, there will be too few days. After all, everyone is here to see the meteor.
Then start adjusting the exposure. Meteors appear randomly. So you need to wait for a long exposure. This requires a long exposure time.
On the other hand, meteors are dark and still moving, unlike the stars in the sky. So long exposure will not accumulate brightness for meteors. So high sensitivity is still necessary.
So I suggest that the sensitivity should be around ISO 6400, plus a large aperture. Then according to the brightness of the ground, determine the exposure time. Simply put, the aperture is the largest and the sensitivity is about ISO 6400. And then shoot in four seconds. If the photo is too bright, the shutter speed will be faster. The photo is too dark, so the shutter speed should be slower.
When I was shooting, I chose ISO 6400 aperture F 1.4, and the shutter speed was 2.5s (Actually, it was faster. The 4s shot is ok. You can darken the photos later. )
After adjustment, my camera has interval shooting function, so I set the interval to 1s to start shooting. If it is released from a cable, set the interval of 1 second as follows.
