How to evaluate the movie Embroidered Spring Knife 2?

It is true that "Embroidered Spring Knife 2" can be regarded as a work of conscience in today's domestic movies, and there are many remarkable places in plot, lines, photography, action, props, costumes and so on, so it is understandable for everyone to appreciate it. But I'm not like this. I watch this movie with the mentality of seeing if Yang can bring me more surprises after three years. Because I still remember seeing Embroidered Spring Knife in the cinema three years ago. When the ending song came out, I stood up all over and had mixed feelings in my heart. But this time when Embroidered Spring Knife 2 ended, I didn't feel that way. In order to find out the reason, I went home to review the first part in detail and talked about the gap between the two parts. In my opinion, "Embroidered Spring Knife 2" is a remake of "Embroidered Spring Knife 1" directed by Yang Lu, but unfortunately it has not surpassed the previous work.

I have reason to say that it is a copy. First of all, the stories of the two works are very similar. In the first movie, Shen Lian let Wei Zhongxian go for money, but he was hunted down and killed his two brothers. In the second part, Shen Lian released the North House for love, so he accidentally discovered the inside story of Zhu Youjian's tampering with the ship's name, and then he was hunted down, and finally two friends died. Frankly speaking, telling a similar story once is emotional, and telling it twice is a bit boring. Moreover, the reason for money in the first film is more sufficient, because he not only needs money to redeem Zhou Congbu, but also his eldest brother needs money to promote hundreds of households and his younger brother needs money to get rid of Ding Xiu. In contrast, in the second film, my colleagues and I turned against each other, because I found that the person I wanted to kill was Mr. Hua, whom I always praised, and she was a beautiful girl. I accidentally killed someone, which seemed a bit like an animal thinking with the lower half. Don't say that you can't see girls being humiliated by morality. I believe that the abuse of the opposing family members can be said to be commonplace at that time.

Secondly, the characters in the two works are very similar. Although the specific stories of the two works are different, they can actually find the corresponding roles in a nearly one-to-one way. It goes without saying that Liu Shishi's Zhou corresponds to Yang Mi's Mr. Beizhai and the pink girl. Lu, played by Zhang Yi, and Lu Jianxing, played by Wang Qianyuan, are ambitious people who can bend their goals but attach importance to brotherhood, while Jin Yichuan and Perrin become warm and funny actors in the two films. Even Ding, played by Xin, has a girl named Zhao with Wei Zhongxian in the first film. After reading more martial arts novels, we know that there is basically a female character with high martial arts and loyalty beside the masters of various forces, which is not a dazzling figure in itself. The crowning touch of the two films, the first is Ding Xiu, a rich madman, and the second is Zhu Youjian, Emperor Chongzhen. These two men are not only plump, but also excellent actors. And why do I say the second one is not as good as the first one? It is very simple, because it lies in the details and bedding, and it lies in the differences of the characters composed of these details and bedding. Say a very interesting thing: After watching the first "Embroidered Spring Knife", you will feel that Shen Lian is not a good person from a moral point of view. But after watching the second movie, Shen Lian looks like a good man, which is the deviation caused by the details.

First of all, at the beginning of the first film, he rushes in and breaks the arm of the man's younger brother. At the same time, he threatens the man with his daughter and asks him to hand over the whereabouts of Lord Xu. At this point, the cruel image of Shen Lian and even the Royal Guards stood in the film, so it is more credible for Liu Shishi to repeatedly say "I am afraid of you". In the second movie, the only scene that can show that the Royal Guards are just stooges is to kill Mr. Beizhai. As a result, Manager Ling tries to insult Beizhai and is interrupted. Therefore, in the eyes of the audience, what kind of identity the Royal Guards are is very vague. After watching the second film, people only know that the imperial edict is terrible and Wei Zhongxian is terrible, but what is the identity of the Royal Guards? They don't feel anything. Secondly, that is, the motivation I just mentioned, the reason in the first part is more sufficient. Lu Jianxing reminded hundreds of adults to publicize his official position. Hundreds of adults said, "either bring more money or shut up and wait." Lu Jianxing was reluctant. At this time, I want to redeem Zhou from the teaching workshop department. Zhou said, "It's just your salary, you have to save it until the year." Jin Yichuan was repeatedly blackmailed by his brother and asked for money. They all said repeatedly that the three of them really needed money. Therefore, it is credible that Shen Lian took Wei Zhongxian's money for his own benefit and let him go. In the second part, Shen Lian took a fancy to Beizhai and went through fire and water for her. Anyway, in my eyes, I think I am obsessed.

Third, on the basis of brotherhood, the first part is far fuller than the second part. In the first part, there is a detail in which Lu Jianxing sews clothes for Jin Yichuan, including three people walking together in the busy street. Shen Lian bribed others for Lu Jianxing and Jin Yichuan. These are what you really see, so the audience will think that they are really brothers, and this brotherhood is full of fireworks. But in the second part, Perrin said that Yin Cheng was a friend, and Shen Lian said, "Yin Cheng and I are friends, too." The point is, there is no performance at all. According to the truth, Liu He should also be friends, but you didn't think they were friends until Liu killed General Ling. When the transmission of certain emotions depends on lines rather than situations, it is actually difficult to arouse the audience's empathy. This indirectly led to the alliance between Peilun and Shen Lian becoming a bit puzzling. The conflict between Lu and Lu did not bring much shock to people. Although it is logically smooth from the perspective of the whole film, at the moment when the plot comes, the audience just ate popcorn and there was no emotional sound.

Finally, talk about the love line. Everyone laughed and said, Shen Lian is really a spare tire for ten thousand years. But in fact, Shen Lian in the first film and Shen Lian in the second film treat feelings in a completely different way. In the first film, no matter whether Zhou loves him or not, even if he knows that Zhou doesn't love him or even fears that he doesn't want to go with him, he is determined to redeem her and take her away. And he went to the imperial edict prison to save Valentine's Week because Zhou said, "I'll go with you when I save him", in essence, in order to take Zhou away. Later, he could simply say to Zhou, "He died and I killed him." Shen Lian in the first movie treats feelings in a possessive and predatory way. In the second part, he clearly knew that Wang Xin was going to kill Beizhai, but he had to hide it for him. He also said to Beizhai: "He asked me to take you away, and he asked you to draw whatever you want." This really became a good spare tire for the Ming Dynasty. But in fact, which is more flesh and blood and more reasonable? I think it was the first one. Because the first film echoes the cruelty of Shen Lian in the first film, and men at that time treated women, especially men like Jin Yiwei, really "I love you, so I must have you, whether you want to be with me or not."

To sum up, Shen Lian in the first movie is selfish, cruel and even greedy, but at the same time, he is affectionate. He will make a wrong decision for money, but he will also pay the price for this decision and try his best to correct it. This is more in line with what Yang Lu wants to express as "nobody in the big background".

In the second part, whether I killed the Royal Guards and took the North House away, I felt that Yang Lu was trying his best to make the role look more "noble" in order to take care of the feelings of the North House. This nobility, in the final analysis, has a little Hollywood-style personal heroism, but it loses the theme of "nobody in the big background" that this series wants to express. Again, Embroidered Spring Knife 2 is a good movie, but if you like it very much, I suggest you revisit Embroidered Spring Knife 1, which will be a more unforgettable viewing experience.
