How to quickly take root of chlorophytum (about planting method of chlorophytum)

The scientific name of peony is Chinese flowering in the heart. Its branches and leaves are as lush as chlorophytum and flowers are like peony, hence the name peony. Peony leaves are evergreen, colorful and tough. Leather is easy to raise. If you cut off a branch for cutting, it will grow into a big pot of peony chlorophytum in the coming year.

1, cutting time

The survival rate of Paeonia suffruticosa cuttings is the highest in the growing season, and the cutting branches have the least influence on the mother plant. Peony chlorophytum grows best in spring and summer, but it is too hot in summer to control the temperature, so it is generally chosen in spring when the temperature is more comfortable.

2. Preparation before cutting

First, we need to prepare branches of peony for cutting. After disinfection by baking or wiping with alcohol, the branches of 10 cm were cut from the well-growing and healthy peony mother plant. The length of branches has no effect on the success rate of cutting, but the branches must be strong.

Cut an oblique mouth at the base of peony cuttings to increase the contact area with soil and facilitate the rooting of cuttings. Then put it in a cool and ventilated place and wait for the wound on the branch to dry, so as not to overflow the juice.

Secondly, prepare suitable flowerpots and soil. In fact, flowerpots are not very important. You can choose ready-made ones at home or your favorite ones, and the soil requires good drainage and air permeability.

Peat soil mixed with pastoral soil can be selected as the base soil, and appropriate amount of perlite can be added to increase the permeability of the soil. It would be better if there is humus soil, and its own nutrition can meet the growth needs of peony in the early stage and improve the survival rate.

3. Cutting step

Insert the cuttings of peony directly into the prepared pot soil about 3 cm deep. After cutting, gently compact the soil surface by hand, then slowly water it once and move the flowerpot to a cool and ventilated place.

4. Maintenance after cutting

Generally speaking, peony cuttings will produce roots and new buds after 10 ~ 15 days under suitable temperature and humidity. This period is also the slow basin period after peony cutting.

Peony branches in the slow pot period are still fragile, so we must pay attention to controlling the amount of watering, as long as we pour a little water after the soil is dry and keep the soil moist. After the slow basin period, it can be watered once every 2 to 3 days in spring, once every morning and evening in summer, once every 3 to 4 days in autumn and once a week in winter.

The peony chlorophytum in the slow pot period can be directly maintained in a cool and ventilated place, and the light can be gradually increased when it is determined that the cuttings survive and the cuttings sprout. Avoid direct sunlight in summer, and only receive light at 8 ~ 10 and 5 ~ 8 pm. In spring and autumn, you can put it indoors in the sun through the window, and it is best to maintain it in sunny conditions in winter.

The newly cut peony chlorophytum may not show the effect. As long as it is well maintained, a year's growth will become a cauldron!
