About 2.5 billion years ago, the mountain-building movement called "Taishan Movement" made Mount Tai above sea level for the first time.

During the neotectonic movement 30 million years ago, a piedmont fault occurred at the southern foot of Mount Tai, where the basin sank and the northern foot rose sharply, forming the majestic posture of Mount Tai today.

Mount Tai granite, Komatiite, three major faults, as well as the well-known "stable as Mount Tai" and "intoxicating stone" all show the magic of Mount Tai in geology and geomorphology.
