Where is Bozhou in Xinjiang?

Bozhou is in the northwest of Xinjiang.

Bortala Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, referred to as Bozhou for short, is located in the hinterland of Eurasia, the northwest of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the western end of Junggar Basin, with a geographical location of 79 53'-83 53' east longitude and 44 02'-45 23' north latitude. The northern and western parts are bounded by the ridges of Alatao Mountain and Bezhentao Mountain and Almaty State of Kazakhstan, with a total length of 372 kilometers.

It is adjacent to Wusu City and Toli County in Tacheng area in the northeast and Nileke County, Yining City and Huocheng County in Yili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture in the south. Bole, the capital of the Autonomous Prefecture, is 524 kilometers east of Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, 2 19 kilometers west of Yining, the capital of Yili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, and 76 kilometers north of Alashankou residential area on the Sino-Kazakhstan border.

Topography of Bortala Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture

Bortala Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture is located in the northwest of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, in the hinterland of Eurasia, surrounded by mountains on the west, north and south, with trumpet-shaped valley plain in the middle. Autonomous Prefecture belongs to a part of North Tianshan geosyncline fold belt, controlled by banded structure, and the development direction of geological structure line is east-west.

The formation period of large tectonic units is divided into Caledonian period and Hercynian period. In Caledonian, Biezhentao fold bundle was mainly formed, with a large amount of granite invading human body on its axis and Devonian and Carboniferous strata on its wings. The state is surrounded by mountains in the west, south and north, with a valley plain in the middle, narrow in the west and open in the east. The whole terrain gradually inclines to the middle and east from south, north and west, and gradually opens like a trumpet. The Turg Mountain in Heurgue is located at the western end of Alatao I, with an altitude of 4,569 meters, which is the highest point in the state.

Ebinur Lake in the northeast is only 189 meters above sea level, which is the lowest place in the state. Geomorphological features are generally composed of three geomorphic units, namely, the mountains on the north and south sides, the Bortala Valley in the middle and the Ebinur Lake Basin in the east.
