Where are Zhang Xueliang’s descendants?

The eldest son Zhang Luxun has been smart and naughty since he was a child, and he is deeply loved by his grandfather Zhang Zuolin. Once, Lu Xun quietly followed Zhang Zuolin. He followed Zhang Zuolin wherever he went. Later, Zhang Zuolin discovered it, grabbed his nose, and asked, "Why don't you go play with me?" Lu Xun said seriously, "I'm counting how many 'Mala Bazi' you can say in a day." Zhang Zuolin listened. He picked up Lu Xun and laughed. It turns out that Zhang Zuolin likes to scold "Mala Bazi" at home and in front of acquaintances. People are used to it and no one cares. Unexpectedly, little Lu Xun became curious and determined to follow Grandpa Ding and count how many "Mala Bazi" he could say from morning to night.

In 1933, Zhang Xueliang went abroad for inspection. Lu Ying, Lu Xun and Lu Ju also went together and stayed in Italy to study. Later, because Italy recognized the puppet Manchukuo, Zhang Xueliang broke off diplomatic relations with Mussolini's son-in-law Ciano in anger, and his children also left Italy and moved to the United Kingdom. While in the UK, the brutal aerial bombings by German fascists caused Zhang Luxun to have serious mental problems. He died in 1954 at the age of 37.

The second son Zhang Lujuan inherited Zhang Xueliang’s athletic talent and liked horse riding, running, and playing tennis since he was a child. At the 14th North China Games in 1929, Lu Ju played tennis with Zhang Xueliang under the spotlight. Her superb skills greatly amazed the people at the time! In 1958, Lu Jue was seriously injured in a car accident in the United States and died.

The third son, Zhang Luqi, was born in 1919. He was smart and quick-thinking since he was a child, and was particularly favored by his parents. But something unexpected happened. In 1929, Lu Qi contracted tuberculosis. In that era, tuberculosis was almost a death sentence. Although Zhang Xueliang consulted famous doctors and Yu Fengzhi took careful care of him, he was still unable to save his life. Zhang Luqi died in Shenyang in 1931. Zhang Xueliang was in so much pain that he didn't even want to live. After Zhang Luqi's death, there were many various legends. Some said that the Japanese killed him, and others said that the doctor's improper operation caused the X-ray machine to explode and he was killed. The "September 18th" incident broke out shortly after Lu Qi's death, which cast a layer of mystery around Lu Qi's death, and various legends have been passed down to this day.

Daughter Zhang Luying met Tao Pengfei while studying in the UK. Tao Pengfei is a native of Fengcheng, Liaoning Province, and is the first graduate of Northeastern University. Before Lu Ying's marriage, someone introduced Lu Ying to Kong Xiangxi's son. But Zhang Lvying was not moved by the wealth of the Kong family and said: "If you want to marry, then marry a commoner." After Zhang Lvying and Tao Pengfei got married, they settled in the United States.

In 1961, Tao Pengfei and Zhang Luying went to Taiwan to participate in the "Yangmingshan Chinese Scholars Symposium". Taking this opportunity, Zhang Luying made a request to the Taiwan authorities to visit her father. Unexpectedly, the Taiwan authorities turned a blind eye. Zhang Lvying had no choice but to find Zhang Xueliang's close friend Zhang Qun for help. With the mediation of Zhang Qun, Zhang Lvying was finally allowed to meet her father Zhang Xueliang. In 1934, when Zhang Xueliang and Lu Ying separated in Europe, Lu Ying was still a little girl. Now more than twenty years have passed, and Zhang Lvying is a woman with a child. Zhang Xueliang's hair was gray and he was entering his twilight years. When the father and daughter met, they hugged each other and cried. Everyone present was filled with emotion. This was also the first time Zhang Xueliang met his son-in-law Tao Pengfei. However, due to strict restrictions from the authorities, they had to break up again after only meeting for more than an hour.

In 1990, Zhang Xueliang regained his freedom. Since then, Zhang Lvying has flown back to Taiwan to visit his father every year. Zhang Lvying, who is now over 90 years old, lives in the United States, has grandchildren and is in good health.

The fourth son, Zhang Lulin (1930- ), is the fourth son of General Zhang Xueliang. His mother is Zhao Yidi, known as "Miss Zhao Si". Zhang Lulin is a famous aerospace expert in the United States. Before retiring, she worked for the U.S. Space Agency Department, senior engineer.

When she was 10 years old, Miss Zhao Si wanted to accompany Zhang Xueliang in prison, so she sent Lu Lin to the United States and entrusted her to Iyager.

In order to prevent Zhang Lulin’s identity from being exposed, Iyager changed Zhang Lulin’s American name to “Kerr”. Soon, Zhang Lulin learned to speak fluent English and gradually forgot all about Chinese. In the end, Zhang Lulin could not even speak the name of her father, Zhang Xueliang.

Because Zhang Lulin was talented and diligent in studying, she was admitted to the University of California after graduating from high school to study aerospace. After graduating from college, Zhang Lulin finally became an expert in aerospace.

In 1952, with the help of the FBI, Miss Zhao Si finally found Lu Lin, who had not heard from her for many years. In 1956, Zhang Lulin came to Taiwan for the first time. From then on, Miss Zhang Xueliang and Miss Zhao Si finally got in touch with their son who could not speak Chinese, and they enjoyed the happiness of a family together.

When Zhang Lulin was studying at the University of California, she met a Chinese girl, Chen Shuzhen. At that time, Zhang Lulin did not tell Chen Shuzhen about her family background. Chen Shuzhen is not willing to get to the bottom of it. It was not until after she got married that Chen Shuzhen found out that her husband was the son of the famous marshal Zhang Xueliang. Only then did Zhang Lulin find out that the gentle, beautiful, well-informed and sensible lady was the niece of the "Southern King" Chen Jitang. After two famous generals got married in a foreign country, it was truly a match made in heaven!

Zhang Lulin and Chen Shuzhen had two sons after their marriage. The eldest, Zhang Juxin, was born in 1962. He graduated from Stanford University and received a doctorate. He has made outstanding contributions in the field of scientific research and has won the National Science Prize in the United States. The second son, Zhang Juyang, was born in 1967.

In May 1994, Zhang Lulin and his wife Chen Shuzhen returned to Shenyang via Hong Kong and Beijing to visit relatives for the first time. After the couple came to Beijing, they insisted on visiting in an unofficial capacity, that is, as Chinese aerospace experts in the United States. Relevant parties then invited Zhang Lulin to the aerospace aviation company to see the actual objects and models of satellites and rockets launched by our country. After the visit, Zhang Lulin was particularly pleased with the rapid development of the motherland's aerospace industry.

Subsequently, Zhang Lulin returned to Liaoning to pay homage to her grandfather Zhang Zuolin's "General's Mausoleum" on behalf of her father. Seeing that the majestic "Da Shuai Mausoleum" in front of her was still well preserved after more than half a century of ups and downs, Zhang Lulin was filled with gratitude. In order to reassure her father who was far away across the ocean, Zhang Lulin used a camera to capture all the scenery in the mausoleum and brought it back to the United States.
