Search gallery photos

In Bridge, click Adobe Stock Photos in the favorites panel.

In the text box next to the Search button, type a word or phrase that describes the subject of the image you want to search for. For example, if you need an image of a baby, type baby. If you need an image of baby eating, you can get a result close to the desired image by typing in baby eating.

To narrow your search to a specific content type, collection, image orientation, or color, click Advanced Search if it is not already open, and then select or deselect some options.

The option selected in the advanced search will remain valid for each search until you change your selection. The category corresponding to the deselected option is listed as Changed next to Advanced Search.

Under Image Type, you can limit your search to masked images. A masked image is a photo of an object, in which the clipping path can cut the background, so it can be placed in any background of the illustration.

Click the search button.

Images that meet the search criteria will be displayed in batches. To see other images, click More. You can change the preference for the number of images displayed in each batch. See changing Adobe Stock Photos preferences.

Note: You can set another language for keyword search in Adobe Stock Photos preferences. Different languages will lead to different results. Generally speaking, searching in English will find more pictures, because not all picture providers support all languages.

Gallery photo search tips

Here are some good ideas to help you optimize your search:

◆ Words that are easy to misspell Check your search words carefully to make sure they are spelled correctly.

◆ Brand name Brand name may not return complete search results. Instead, you should search by the general name of the picture.

◆ Exact phrase search To view the image that exactly matches the phrase, please type the phrase in the search text box (put the phrase in double quotation marks).

◆ Narrow the range of search phrases You can narrow the search range by entering Boolean operators (such as AND, OR or NOT). For example, you can enter "A horse is not a man, a woman or a child" to find an image of no one except a horse.

◆ Search by Subject To search for a subject, please use nouns that describe the subject of the photo, such as "bike" or "house", and adjectives that modify nouns, such as "old-fashioned" or "red". To further narrow your search, please use verbs that can explain the actions in the photos.

According to the concept search, try to use words that express concepts or ideas, such as "romance", "vitality", "depression" or "excitement", in order to find exciting images.

◆ Search by Style To find photos that reflect specific photography or artistic skills, you can try to search for "outline", "studio photos" or "clip path".

◆ Browse by Topic Click the browse button on the homepage of Adobe Stock Photos, and then select the image category to view.

About the sample

Samples refer to low-resolution gallery photos that you can download. You can use samples to capture feelings, ideas or concepts before purchasing the final image of the project. This example is not authorized for production, but you can use it in models or other preliminary work. After the evaluation phase is completed, you must purchase the image before you can print it or publish it on the Web.

Metadata is embedded in the example. This metadata is used in Adobe applications to identify an image as a gallery photo, even if you rename the image. In Adobe Bridge, InDesign, and Illustrator, presentations are also marked with small icons. You can buy a high-resolution version of the image later, even after moving the sample to the project folder or creating another version of the image.

Download samples from Adobe Stock Photos

You can download the samples to any folder on your system and use them through Adobe Bridge. You can also choose to download a copy of the presentation to the default Adobe Stock Photos folder. Therefore, you can easily use them in the Adobe Stock Photos window of Bridge.

2. Right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Mac OS) the selected photo, and then select Download Sample from the menu.

4. In the Save As dialog box, select a location to save the sample.

5. If you want to change the sample name instead of using the AdobeID name, select Rename from the File Save Options menu, and then type a new name. If multiple samples are downloaded, a continuous number will be added to each file name. If a file with the name you choose already exists, a number will be added to the current file name so that the file will not be overwritten.

6. If you want to save a copy of the sample in the default folder for easy search, select "Save a copy in the downloaded sample folder". For information about changing the default download folder, see Changing Adobe Stock Photos Preferences.
