Historical evolution

Pingshan belonged to Jizhou in the time of Yao in the Tang Dynasty, Bingzhou in the time of Yu and Shun, Changshan Kingdom in the Eastern Han Dynasty, Changshan County in the Three Kingdoms, Hengshan County in the early Sui Dynasty, and Fangshan County later.
