How to avoid glare in photography?
1, see your point of view
Just as we look at the light when looking for a spotlight in the eyes of the subject, people with glasses must pay close attention to the light when shooting. Just as the eyes reflect the light shining on the eyes, so do the glasses lenses. Unfortunately, the glare caused by this reflection is almost less attractive to the eyes than the spotlight!
When your subject looks at a light source (usually the sky), it will cause lens glare. To avoid this, you can fine-tune the shooting angle to eliminate or reduce the scattered glare. Sometimes, a little foot washing to one side or the other is enough to change the angle and reduce glare.
You can also ask your subject to adjust the angle of his head slightly until the glare disappears. You can see how it works in the following example. In the first picture, the subject's face directly enters the light source (sunset). I can eliminate glare by adjusting the angle of his chin and turning his head directly at me.
In the second example, you can see the glare in the first image. By letting the subject lower his chin slightly, he completely got rid of the glare.
Step 2 tilt your glasses
Another way to reduce the glare of glasses is to physically adjust the position of the glasses themselves. By slightly tilting the back end of the face and moving the plane of the glasses, the light source can be well prevented from reflecting in the lens. Please remember again that glare in glasses is related to light. In this case, it is helpful to adjust the angle of the reflecting surface slightly. Please look at the following example. The chin has been slightly raised and the plane of the lens has moved, so that the light is no longer directly reflected.
3. Put the lamp behind them
With the backlight in the photo, the glare of the glasses lens can also be avoided. By placing the light source behind the main body, you will eliminate the main glare source. In this photo, I just turned the subject 180 degrees and let the sunset behind him.
This backlight strategy is perfect for shooting this kind of family full of glasses wearers. The sun is in the right corner of the picture, behind them. Take a closer look-it's not glare.
Lens glare can be a bit tricky. If you are not careful, you may spend a lot of time trying to solve the glare of your glasses in lightroom. However, you know how to avoid the glare of glasses in photos. You just need extra attention and time to take photos correctly. By following these three simple suggestions, you can save a lot of time and trouble!
