Characteristics of Youngor Zoo in Ningbo
The zoo makes full use of the geographical advantages of large water area and vertical and horizontal water system in the region to create the first aquatic animal viewing tour route in domestic zoos. Visitors can take a paddle boat and swim on the clear lake, enjoying the free-range herbivores on both sides of the strait and the primates on the island, which is quite interesting.
There is also Wolong Cave in the park, covering an area of more than 3,000 square meters. In the cave, the artificial mimicry landscape technique and high-tech sound and photoelectric means are used to interpret the prehistoric python forest in the dinosaur era, the shocking volcanic eruption, the white tiger playing in the snow and ice, the thrilling long night and the return to nature.
Leisure projects are colorful.
The zoo has also designed a variety of leisure projects, including animal performances, animal competitions, animal photography, beach swimming, farm parks and other programs. At that time, elephants, tigers, monkeys, lions and other animals will take turns to perform on stage, and wonderful acrobatics and ethnic customs performances will feast your eyes. Cockfighting, dog racing and other highly participatory animal sports are full of wild interests. At the same time, all kinds of amusement facilities are very complete. Children who like excitement can play new and fashionable amusement projects such as Ferris wheel, bumper car, space ball and rock climbing.
Strive for 4A tourist area
In order to improve the service quality in an all-round way and better serve tourists, Ningbo Youngor Zoo has recently started to create AAAA tourist area on the basis of being rated as AAA tourist area.
A is the quality grade identification of tourist attractions, which is divided into four grades, with 4A as the highest grade, and the evaluation content includes four aspects: service, environment, landscape quality and tourist satisfaction. Youngor Zoo has attracted nearly 400,000 tourists since its opening, becoming the most popular highlight of Ningbo tourism and a new star in the domestic zoo industry. In order to do a good job in the creation, the zoo set up a creation leading group, worked out a creation plan, and organized two investigation teams to study in Shanghai and Hangzhou. The double certification of ISO9000 quality assurance system and ISO 14000 environmental management system, which are closely related to the creation work, has also been started.
News hot spots in 2008
Animals in Ningbo Youngor Zoo don't hibernate this year.
It is understood that in Ningbo Youngor Zoo, the animals used for hibernation are crocodiles and snakes, and bears will be in a semi-hibernating state in winter and "hide". However, careful animal breeders find that compared with wild animals, animals in the park don't eat much, so during hibernation, many animals will sleep and never wake up. In order to reduce the mortality rate of animals, the zoo decided to let all animals that need to hibernate live in the greenhouse and feed them properly at the same time to maintain their physical strength.
In the Happy Theater, I saw a crocodile lying quietly on the ground. Copper pipes are added around the nearby pool to increase the water temperature, and electric heating plates are hung on the wall to increase the indoor temperature. The thermometer shows that the temperature of the crocodile's room has reached 22.9℃; In the glass room where three pythons live, the author found that in addition to the electric heating plate on the wall, there are two more quilts on the ground. The python, who likes darkness, got under the thick quilt and "covered" it. Animal breeders told me that snakes eat less at present and usually feed them once a week; Crocodiles eat little and basically don't feed.
Later, when I came to Woong San, I found that Woong San was quite lively: two brown bears, five black bears and six Malay bears were all outside the room, and one of the black bears was leaning against the wall to bask in the sun, looking carefree. Animal breeders said that in order to increase the energy in bears, the zoo fed them cooked egg shells, milk powder and other foods; For herbivores such as antelopes, veterinarians will add some Chinese medicines to food to enhance immunity; Primates such as orangutans are also fed some high-energy foods, such as brown sugar, red dates and peanuts.
Elephants and squirrel monkeys are the best animals in the zoo in winter. In the elephant house in Africa, an elephant is roasting in front of the brazier and asking us for food with its long nose. Elephant food is also quite rich: bananas, apples, sugar cane, wowotou, oranges, tomatoes and so on. At night, elephants sleep in "small" air-conditioned rooms. In the zoo, only squirrel monkeys enjoy the same treatment as elephants and spend the winter in air-conditioned rooms. Flamingos, toucans, parrots and other birds. Come out for activities during the day and use the electric heating plate when you go back to your room at night.
