How to protect the camera when traveling to Xinjiang in winter?

With the construction and improvement of tourist facilities in Xinjiang, there are more and more tourists visiting Xinjiang in winter. Xinjiang in winter is quiet from the noise of autumn, covered with thick snow and ice, and everything has returned to that original innocence. Tourists entering Xinjiang are like entering the fairy tale world of ice and snow, such as cream-thick snow, pure rime, horse-drawn sledge in the snow and passionate skiing. . . I always leave beautiful and cool photos for myself when traveling, but as a sophisticated electronic instrument like a camera, it is still sensitive to temperature changes. Especially outdoors in winter. We should do a good job in protecting cameras. Now I'd like to share with you some tips on camera protection in my daily life.

Low temperature protection

In the low temperature shooting environment, the battery life will be greatly reduced, and the number of photos that can be taken may be only half of that at normal temperature. In fact, if you use a special camera insulation cover and wrap the camera, you can extend the battery life. Putting the camera in the heat preservation sleeve can also avoid the problems of slow display speed and color cast caused by low temperature of the LCD screen. The thermal insulation sleeve of the camera can also prevent the camera from directly contacting the skin of the face to cause frostbite, and prevent the exhaled water vapor from condensing on the viewfinder of the camera to affect shooting. If you accidentally slip, you can also prevent the camera from falling directly on the cold and hard ground and causing greater losses.

photographic lenses are generally coated with grease for lubrication, and the lens barrel of some ordinary lenses will be made of non-metallic materials. At low temperature, grease will freeze and nonmetallic materials will become fragile. Therefore, proper force should be applied to avoid lens damage.

In addition, put the spare battery in the pocket of clothes to keep the temperature. When the battery power of the camera is weakened, replace it with a new battery to continue shooting

Hang the camera on your body

Winter is a cold season, and sudden changes in temperature can easily damage the internal structure of the camera, especially the lens. So hang the camera on your chest, so that the camera can slowly adapt to the outdoor low temperature. If you haven't met a good scenery for a long time, it is safest to put the camera in the camera bag.

Prevent fogging

When you come back from cold outdoor filming and enter a warm environment, the water vapor in the air condenses on the surface of the camera and lens, and the inside of the camera and lens will also freeze. In order to ensure the dryness of the camera and lens, the following measures can be taken according to the actual situation:

1. If the camera lens has been used outdoors at low temperature, which is quite different from the room temperature, the camera and lens should be sealed in plastic bags before entering the room. After entering the room, a layer of water vapor will immediately appear on the surface of the plastic bag. At this time, we need to wait for the camera and lens to return to the indoor temperature, and then take out the camera lens when the water vapor on the surface of the plastic bag completely disappears.

2. Before entering the room, we can also put the camera in the camera bag. When entering the room, don't open the camera bag and let the camera slowly cool down in the camera bag. This process may take 4 to 6 hours or more.

3. If the camera and lens have fogged, you can wipe the water vapor on the surface of the camera and lens with microfiber cleaning cloth. At this time, don't rush to take the lens off the fuselage, so as to avoid water vapor quickly entering the camera and lens. We can completely wrap the camera and lens with a dry and clean cotton cloth, which can reduce the phenomenon of fog. But this method is only an emergency measure, so don't use it often.

Seal the camera

When we enter the room after shooting, we should seal the camera and let the camera slowly accept the temperature change, which can prevent fogging inside and outside the camera. You can wrap the camera in a plastic bag, but you must tie it tightly, because water vapor will condense on the outside of the plastic bag. If you don't tie it tightly, a lot of water droplets will flow into the camera.

Anti-static

The camera is densely packed with a large number of electronic components, which is easy to generate static electricity in use. In addition, the air is dry in winter, and the human body is also prone to generate static electricity. Static electricity will not cause direct damage to the camera, but it will lead to increased dust adsorption. We can reduce the lens replacement to reduce dust adsorption, or use anti-static gloves and other products to prevent static electricity

Fourth, in rainy and snowy weather

If you encounter rainy and snowy weather when shooting outdoors, how to protect the camera and lens? The fuselage of most digital SLR cameras is black, so it is easier to absorb the heat radiated by the sun. Therefore, when the outdoor temperature is not too low, snowflakes flying in the air fall on the camera and lens and will soon melt into water droplets.

therefore, we suggest adding a professional rain and snow protection cover outside the camera and lens, which can not only prevent rain and snow from directly falling on the camera and lens, but also play a certain role in thermal insulation of the camera and lens. If there is no protective cover against rain and snow, we can also take a simple method, that is, use a plastic bag to make a "dress" suitable for the camera and lens, and fasten it with a hood or rubber band at the front end of the lens, and then we can shoot.

It is not complicated to maintain and use the camera in winter. After mastering these protective measures, you can safely take your favorite photos in cold winter
